Ah, the joys of having TV-out on your computer, plus the bonus of a nice big TV. Pretty schweet, ain't it?

That ain't tv-out homie... That's firewire - all digital... Running through a hybrid 528mb video card. That there is the future - TV merges with the internet. Full motion video from a streaming server loads in seconds and is every bit of DVD quality.

Like I said, shitting my pants...

Can that be done with a regular TV,or does it have to be a megabux flatscreen plasma deal?

I work at a technology consulting company... Some people say it's an advertising agency, but I refuse to call it that.

Video card is a mess. It's an ATI prototype with 528meg of Ram, Firewire out, pure digital, etc... Resolution gets crazy: 4096x3072 @ 100hz

Do you ever have problems with your wireless router? I got the same one and every now and then it acts up and the "satelite" computers won't get a good signal.
Linksys is par for the course when I call them for answers.

How come the work you're doing right now is so much cooler than the work I'm doing right now? I should be at home in my warm basement.

Deyo, mine seems all good... From what I understand, they run best under windows xp.

Kevin, you need to come over this weekend holmes - we got some crazy mad fabrication shit going on with above plasma screen. You are gonna shit yourself too!

  14. About 10 years ago I worked for a print shop that printed spec sheets for AT&T Paradyne products, they made (make?) commercial grade routers, modems, etc., I had illustrate a big poster of the schematic their room full of working prototype equipment. The head engineer took me in so I could sketch what the equipment looked like. He told me then, that the future was on-demand movies from the internet. getting closer and closer everyday.

    Sell your "Blockbuster" stock!!!!

Then I think about all the people that Hear me bullshittin about rods and then I am wonderin if they are sayin the same to them selves. I guess that it goes for any hobbie. I found it very humorous though.

Oh thats nothing. My new 52" HDTV has a built in web browser. All I have to do is plug it into my LAN and set down on the couch with the keyboard/mouse/remote and surf the net, including the HAMB. I can also watch TV on a screen about 14" diagonally and use the rest to surf the net.

It sucked 2 months ago when it desided to break and allow all the smoke out of the electronic parts. It took RCA 2 months to replace all the smoke. Some of it was on back order.

    Yeah, what he said.

Reminds me of when my dad got a 60" projection TV - what's the VERY FIRST thing we did after it was delivered?

    Hooked up the Nintendo.

    Yea, you're a dork alright.

So are we, or we wouldn't be here.

And if you weren't such a big dork, we wouldn't have this cool playground to goof off in.

What we need is a few more dorks like you in the world. [IMG]

BTW, that is some coool stuff, dork. Thanks for making us so jealous, (even if I only about half understand it all).

  29. I run my Powerbook on the tv all the time. I watch DVDs that way and play computer games too. It pipes through the sterio as well so I have HUGE sterio sound and a HUGE picture. I have yet to go plasma though.

  30. That aint nuthin'! I hooked my 220 gigajiggle, to my 36" pro-master-silverstation to crossfeed the whatchacallit over to the big (for me) 330amp per minute mixmastergeneral...

    You guys are killin me!

I am the equivalent to the "gas goes here, key goes there car person" when it comes to computers...

    but I am impressed!
    Sam.
