  1. I don't think heroe's call themselves a hero. For some reason the video would only play about a minute and a half, but from what I saw, I dug it. The way I look at it is this:the man has money coming out of his ass. His wife has money coming out of her ass. He could sit in his home shop and build bikes and rods, and whatever else he wants for himself. He doesn't need to earn any more money. Evidently he must be relatively genuine in his intentions, cuz why else would he do it?

  2. Im speechless...seems heartwarming, and close to home for some folks.

    I am skeptical though...

IF truly sincere...I would say "Yes" and support it; If for Publicity...Forget it.

Im torn on my decision..I would have to read/see more about this "project"

Nah, I'd rather not see HAMB stickers stuck to the back of geeked out Accords.

I'd be more than happy to give Jesse my support, just not with the HAMB name. It might help HIS cause, but I really don't think that's the kind of exposure that would make THIS place better. My .02

I still think that downtown has much character...and w/ all the recent raids on illegal immigrants I think it could be on a rise...

on the jesse james thing FUCK NO! everything he ever posts here is to promote himself or be an ass I see nothing positive that would come out of this....I think it will be a good show but I feel that the Hamb should stay away...if we get into the mainstreem people would see my allaince tag and think man he's on that cool rat rod site w/ jesse james and try to steal it or some other bull shit like that.

I just hope he doesn't plan demolish/torch/blow up the town if they don't meet their goals in a week.

I really like to see what comes of it.

Is it to be a movie or some TV series?

As far as HAMB involvement, I don't think so. Doesn't mean we can't all get involved in our communities on our own though. By all means.

I'm a car guy folks - not a tv personality by a long shot... As such, I won't be getting involved and most likely wouldn't let my brands get involved either.

For the record, I voted no... BUT, I am showing some support just by letting this post run its course. Frankly, I felt this one was best answered by you guys and not by me...

I don't live in a "hick town" so my vote probably wouldn't count anyways!

Lets have the show prove itself first. If its not a pile of crap, then sign on. No need to be first in line here. Patience, grasshopper.

I see HAMB plaques and stuff in those olskoolrodz type magazines. But I don't see people trying to affiliate with the HAMB who aren't members bedsides isn't member ship here free and open to anyone.

I don't think there is ever going to be people slappin huge HAMB stickers on their hondas or posts being made on here from people who want help fixing their accords all because they saw something about it on TV.
Whatever happens the HAMB can overcome.

Nooooo Way! I dont think the HAMB needs that sort of attention. It might turn out to be a bad thing. All we need is the HAMB to become the next fad. Like others have said I think it would be easy for the meaning of the HAMB and its purpose to get lost. I dont want to see britney Spears with a designer HAMB ballcap.. Or people comming just because there fans of Jesse James.. OK im exagerating just a little bit. haha. :D But you know what I mean. Plus I just dont see how its relevant to the HAMB?

To be honest, I can't believe that this is being concidered on here.

It looks to me like something that has a political flair to it, do to the fact that a fictitious Mayor will run a small town for a week, change laws and run the bad guys out of town.

I always thought politics weren't allowed on here.

Now don't get me wrong Jesse, I think that it's great that you want to do something good for people. But why not do something like getting schools cleaned up by buying up to date books, computers, and maybe even helping with their athletic program.

I'm sorry, but my children and their schooling is more important than any thing else. I would hope that others in small or big towns would feel the same way.

I don't think the HAMB needs promoting if people are really interested they will find it anyway. I like Jesse James shows but it might attract some just because they think it's the cool thing right now.

The pros promoting the HAMB and classic car culture.
The con's getting a influx of import people to ruin our family here.

There are a lot of up sides and down sides to this.
I am not sure what to think.

I didn't see where the promo mentions tradiotnal hot rodding? I respect J.J. and think he's a hell of a metal worker, but the show doesn't correlate to this forum at all. At least my belief anyway.

That said it doesn't mean I wouldn't watch it.

It would be nice to see a show promoting something other than "rat" rods or professional built street rods with a shop forman that has a little guy attitude, but at what cost? I came to and joined the HAMB because I believe for the most part if promotes a hobby that is concerned with safety as well as perserving a part of automotive history and a way of life. That being said, Ryan this board is your creation and you have gratiously invited us into your peice of the world here on the web, so you have to do what feels right in your heart. Thanks for the offer though. :)

I Like The Idea. I Don't Like Jesse James. I Hink It Would Be Bad For The H.a.m.b. In The Longrun.

It Will Just Overload The Board With People That Don't Want To Get It.

I think the votes are already speaking for themselves. HELL NO!!!!!

  24. you and me dick.. we'll start us a focus group.. you bring the beer

  25. Simply put: No.

Also, if my favorite virtual garage were to become involved in anything I'd like to see it find a way to promote high school auto and metal shops. There's a thing worthy of our support.

I hate to say it, but Ryan, I think you made a mistake by starting a new thread with a poll. I believe this creates more attention than Jesse's original thread, am I wrong???

I like the idea of shaking up a city council, but I don't see what it has to do with the HAMB.

If Jesse need our help I say fine, I'll donate some time, but leave the HAMB out of it.

  29. Instead of having a HAMB car show I wonder if he could help a local CAR CLUB have a show. If we promote it on here we'll only be tangentially involved. I gotta vote no but I'll still support the TV show.
