Heres where I'm at. I have a '63 International 1300 with split rim Budd wheels. I would like to change over to a more modern rim. I have heard that some UPS trucks and some uniform trucks have 6-lug wheels but I believe they are larger bolt pattern. I think mine are 6 on 7 1/4".
What I started to do was remove the center from a spare wheel and remove the center from a donor 16" 8-lug wheel and install the 6-lug center in the 8-lug hoop. It's not a good fit but I feel if this is the only way I can go I will find a set of hoops that will work.

    Any thoughts would be great.

  2. I'd think it'd be pretty simple to redrill the pattern on a mill using a rotary table.

The problem is the center hole in the 8-lug wheels would also need to be taken into account. Most stock style wheels are flanged holes (does that even make sense??). I would probably have to start with an aftermarket wheel that has a flat center and go from there.

    Thanks for the reply.

Well, you haven't said, but are you wanting an aluminum wheel, or a steel wheel? No matter, call around to the wheel companies and tell them what you have and what you want. Most can, and will drill them for you. Just be certain on the wheel and lug size, backspace, and for what kind of tire you want to run.

Maybe there are tractor wheels in your truck's bolt circle? Maybe these guys could get you information: http://www.ssbtractor.com/page35.html

Tractor part companies can sometimes supply just hoops to use with your centers. If you're out of ideas, maybe this would work.
