My condolences Jeepers- my nonno died a few years back when he fell off a ladder in the back yard fixing the air conditioner. When you're times up your times up I guess. Live life everyday like it's your last-

Sorry to hear of your loss Jeeps, but I as a grandfather don't think we are created from different stuff. We lived it, try to bring our expierences forward, and hopefully some knowledge to share, and try to teach our young ones to live their lives with integrity. God bless and good luck my friend....Fred
PS: think about it........you are a future grandfather

Sorry for your loss, but your grandfather was a lucky man to have your respect and admiration. He'll never really die as long as he's remembered, like you remember him. The torch has been passed - keep it going by sharing your life with your kids and grandkids.

I hope my grandchildren will think of me like that when my time comes.

Of course we're all sorry to hear of your loss, but if he went out while swimming in Puerto Rico, well, he may have gone out like he wanted. I've had two parents, two parerents-in-law, and eight collected grandparents go to whatever awaits us all.
The one who shined above all was my father-in-law who went out on his own terms (from cancer) at 84-or-so. He kicked butt until the last few days and never took excuses for missing a day of enjoying life.
Remember what you had, not what you lost.

Hey man I'm really sorry to here about your Grandpa. I am trying to prepare myself for my Grandpa's passing as he has been really ill for the last year and a half and the doctors just let him go home so he could be there when it happens. I wouldn't say he was my hot rod inspiration, since no one in my family was into them, but he definitely got me into old cars. Every summer when I was a kid he would pick me up in his '50 Chevy pick-up and we would coast down (My hometown is on a hill in western Iowa) to the donut shop for coffee (juice) and donuts. Then we would fire the old girl up and drive home and get ready to go fishing. About five years ago he gave the truck to me and I started restoring it. Now I'm just trying to scurry and finish it before he goes, as my grandma wants me to drive it in the funeral procession. Grandparents really do provide great memories and I hope your grandfather gave you as many as mine did I.

    Best wishes,

    Josh

  19. May he rest in piece. It sounds like he did alright by you. Now you get to pass along his wisdom to your younger relations. I hope that he went doing something he loved like fighting a monstrous black marlin.
His character resonates strongly and that is what will assure that he is never really gone.
You were blessed. I only knew one of my grandparents. My father's father died when I was 5. These people are so precious.

Same as what others said, my thought and prayers go to you. Sounded like a great guy.

Those memories that you have of your grandfather is something that many people did not have the chance to have with their parent or grandparent.

The time you had with your grandpa is now priceless. Keep his memory alive.
