  13. I haven't got exacts but here is our initial response. 3 Urban Search and Rescue teams, consisting of approx 75 personnel, all experienced with search dogs. One team each from Queensland NSW and SA being transfered by RAAF airlift. Further teams will be dispatched at about midnight tonight.
The call has gone around for people with experience to put there hand up, I know of at least 100 further people waiting to be called up.
Dont worry, we wont leave you in the lurch. ANZAC.

My heart goes out to you all and i will say a prayer. There isn't much scarier than the earth shaking below your feet.

thank you all for your prayers and thoughts...it means a lot and as kiwipackard has said already it'll man a great deal to folk from here who are most affected. Christchurch is really yet to recover from the series of quakes they suffered in Sept which began with a 7.1 centred 10km down .This one was 6.3 ,5km down and caused a LOT of damage

This is kind of something worse than your worst nightmare.

The shake was real violent & I got outside pretty quick and saw most of the people from the neighbouring businesses already outside. So I was slower than them.

The shaking frightened the snot out of me.

The cell network was down and the landline system was out too, so couldnt contact the kids & my wife and it was unbelievable - in the middle of something nasty & no way to know what was happening because you cant communicate to anyone.

Tracked down my wife & kids about an hour later & they are all fine. And all the members of our hot rod club who have contacted us are safe too.

Our side of town has very minimal damage, (but power is out so) but the centre of the city is pretty much stuffed. As others have said, 65 confirmed dead and that number will keep going up.

And its still shaking. My heart goes out to those trapped in the fallen buildings who will probably spend the night hoping to see the dawn

Oh man, this is bad news. Hope all my Kiwi pals and their families are okay. Is there anything we can do from here to help? Sending prayers, but don't know what else to do.

Not a good day , we all are still trying to get our lives back on track after the September event ,this quake was a slightly lower rating but the difference was that it was only 5 km deep ,the last was 15 .
Because of the timing ,there are many deaths ,final figure could be 150 plus.
Our Garden City is buggered , This is NZ's Darkest Day.As I write this there are many trapped people, its rainning ,I feel I shouldnt be on here ,but out helping.
I just dont know what to say ........

    Thanks guys.
