So you laugh at them based on what happened like 37 years ago? I suppose Ferraris are a joke too? Brilliant.
So, back to RUF...as I understand it, and I probably don't, RUF mods are substantial enough that they are classified in Germany as their own manufaturer. So saying a "RUF equipped Porsche" is like calling your GT-350 a "Shelby-equipped Mustang." I always believed that cars were either RUFs or Porsches, not both. But it doesn't really matter, because, deep down, I don't really care one way or the other about Porsche, RUF, or any of the rest of it. Nurburgring? Hell yes...in a LeMans GT-40. Gulf Oil colors, just because. I'm only asking for a half hour. Pretty please.
Even though it may have been tuned by RUF. It is still a Porsche. The GT40 is a cool car, but I'd rather take the 1998 Lemans winning GT1 Porsche around the Nurburgring any day of the week. I have driven that car and I liked driving that over any other car I have driven.
