When I was twenty, I was in a blues band, it was tight and a lot of fun.. (I'm the drummer ) Anyway we had played for a couple years back then and I quit the band in '97.....reasons.... everyone has had them,,, Well we just got back together a few months ago and just played our first real gig as the "Second Hand Blues Band". It was horrible!hahahaha but we played through and got **** done.... Funny though, Our front man, Jim gave me a ride back here (house sitting) and told me I was right when I said we weren't ready.....Don't get me wrong we "sounded" fine, but anyone that was musically inclined caught it... All in all we got our socks wet...especially Mike when he stepped in some spilled beer behind the drums as we were tearing down!....we'll be tighter on Dec. 15, Olivara's (sp) Ionia..... The best cover of the night?? That's a toss up, either "Goin' Down" or "the Sky is Cryin'".....Best orig.?...Petty Betty...... Okay, Night....
Thats awesome matt! Glad to hear your back on the throne. Me? Not so much. I havent sat down and banged on my drums in quite a while. Its fun though, isnt it?
**** man, I hadn't played in three years before this band!!! IT's like riding a bike...as sick as the clesha is.....I'm horrible with the french.....or whatever it is.... Bob BLeed loves me!haahhahahaha ANd I love you..........
Good for you Matt. I'm sure you guys sounded great,. I love the blues and hope to catch you guys some night. And I'm sure "The Sky is Crying" sounded great, one of my favorite Blues songs.
there's nothing better than a blues band (tight or not) in a smokey club playing Goin' Down. Glad you got your fix.
Good for you! As a blues lover I can tell you a band that's having fun is just as much or more fun as a "technically clean" group.
