This is just a rant.

I have had a little rat terrier hanging around the house for the last week. She's just a pup, maybe 4 months old.
I noticed that she had been fixed and tatooed by the pound.
I call the pound and get this name and number of the guy that had previously adopoted her. I call the guy and leave a couple of messages. No return calls.

I am feeling like the dog may have been dumped so I look up the guys address. 20 miles away. I know this dog didn't travel that far on her own.

So I finally call the guy and he says " I am so glad you called, I have been in LA for a week and she must have gotten out". So I am feeling better right up til he says....
"I gave her to a lady and they didn't get along. I'll take her back if you want. So I ask him, what he would do with her and he says.....I'll just take her back to the pound.
What a freaking tard! I am thinking there was no lady....he just dumped her and if I giver her back to him, he'll just dump her somewhere else. People take care of your animals. This ain't a 3rd world country where they are bred for food purposes. It's a "pet peeve" of mine(no pun intended). She's great with kids and I believe she's housebroken. She fetches as well, why would anyone dump a dog like this? I have a Rat Terrier myself and a German Shepherd or she would be living here. Well, she has been for the past 48 hours. Sorry bout the RANT!!!!!

Bill, this dog is adorable. She has a funny personality. I have a Rat and she isn't nearly as funny as this one. My Rat just wants to be top dog. She even has the Shepherd fooled....Anyone up for a HAMB DOG RELAY? Be in on the first live cargo relay!!!

hey! another brown Dobermann! how old's your brown bomber, Munson?

in my world, individuals who can't or won't treat animals with respect would get their limbs hacked off and be beaten with 'em. wretched filthbags.

Vito's in the middle.

Vito doesn't have a mean bone in his body but he has several hundred bratty bones. his favorite pastime is sneaking up on the cats and putting his mouth over their heads. it's a million laffs.

totally agree. where i lived on the other side of the state was a very small country town where alot of hunting took place. when the hunters were done with the dogs at the end of the season they would either dump them somewhere 10 at a time or. the real horror story my vet said the trails where she rides horses it was common for the hunter to take the dogs tie them to a tree and put a bullet in their head. cheaper just to get new dogs. people like that have a special place waiting for 'em in hell i think. the wife and i are very pro animal. got a dog and 2 cats now just had my little buddy cat pass of diabeties at the end of last year. going thru some problems with my german short hair pointer having bad nose bleeds right now. got her on antibiotics trying to clear up infection but may have to take her in for xrays and a sedatation exam to see if they can find the problem if that doesn't work. lots of money that will be, but they are our kids since we don't have any little ones they are that much more spoiled. that seems like such a good little pup to bad you can't keep it but looks like lots of people are stepping up. thats what i love about this place. just when i get frustrated with this place a fucking good thing like this comes along.BRAVO TO YOU FOR LOOKING OUT FOR HER!!!!...ken....

Root, call your animal shelter back they will know of shippers that can get it to our friend in Albe...New Mexico. I know there is a Jack Russell Rescue league or something, so there might be a RAT Rescue league, too.
It pisses me off too, Root. There are ways to ship them and they are usually very reasonable.

Not only is our JRT mean, he once stole my car to use in a bank job!

17. e-mail Cora from this site. They might can arrange transportation. They've also got other dogs to place if anybody wants one.

Here's my little dumpee buddy... Zeigler. He was malnourished and had the mange when he found me. I spent money I didn't have (I was only making 15K a year at the time) taking him to the vet (Dr. Slaughter, I told him he should change his name!) getting ol Zig fixed up. He's a Golden Retriever/Chow mix I think and the sweetest dog in the world. But it took about a year to break his "living on his own" habits, like eating out of the garbage, eating bugs, and being leary of people. The bastard that dumped him must have beat him too cuz to this day (he's 9 now) if you make a sudden move with your arms he will flinch like he's gonna get hit. I'm glad I found him cuz he's not the brightest bulb in the box... if you throw a bone or ball or food to him he will just squeeze his eyes shut and let it bonk him on the head then he'll pick it up off the floor. He will also look up in the rain and blink his eyes cuz its raining in them.... not to bright but still a good dog!

I think my ex-gf and I spent like $2500 one year on vet bills for picked up strays... one was a really cool boxer I wish I coulda kept. About 15 minutes after we got him loaded into the car after getting him off the side of the road, we were suddly his best freinds, and would darn near go into attack mode if people he didnt like got near us...

Dumb dogs are the greatest entertainment!

I'd sure help in the relay.
Hearin about those hunting dogs back east really pisses me off, I've had a good hound before, a good lifelong companion. Especially since I am planning on getting a Walker or Plott hound next year. When I get moved to my own place it'll be a priority for me- now every time I see a coon dog go by in the back of a truck, I get envious
Why would some disrespteful asshole do that?
Those dogs are valuable, but that's not the point.
Anyone who thinks dogs are disposable is breaking a very very ancient bond and I sure do hope they are especially cursed by doin it.

We have had our Border Terrier for 13 years now. He was a stray that was going to get put down when we found him. Great company and he goes everywhere with us.

There is no such thing as bad dogs, only bad owners.

24. I would gladly help out with some dough to get that pup to a new home. If you can't treat a dog well I don't want to know you. We lost our Corgi/Beagle mix earlier this year and I'm sitting here crying looking at pics of him (yeah I know I'm being weepy but it was a heartbreaking thing) just don't get how people can abandon an animal that wants nothing more than to be part of your pack and be in your good graces. Hell if people more more like dogs the world would be a lot less Fucked up.....

The hamb relay is kinda in limbo right now. My inlaws are discussing whether or not they want to take on another animal. That's the way people should do it. Talk about all the reponsibilites first. Mercury Bill, I'll get with ya soon and give you a definite.

It's funny your vet's name was Slaughter, Gracie. In my grandmother's town in Oklahoma, there was a vet named Dr. Coffin..... Is this some kind of sick vet school joke or something?

The cool thing about Dr Slaughter was that he was a weekend drag racer... sponsored by all kinds of doggie meds and stuff... his race car would be at the shop every friday... his major sponsor was Iams dog food... he had a giant pawprint on the hood!

Yet another post that shows me how special the people of the HAMB are. We've always had pets. A couple of pooches at present, alway nice to have one of them in the garage when I am doing stuff. Sent a duck through the mail once, but that's another story and it was plastic, no wrapping, just a stamp, made it from the west coast to the east coast here. Kind put back some faith for me in the people of Australia post

Sorry for the delay, I am now in Teterboro, New Jersey.

And American Airlines wonders why they are having trouble....that's another issue.

That is a cute dog!!!

Tracy can't even watch the animal cops shows, she either gets mad or cries and then RASHY gets no play time. [IMG]

As for another dog... we both want one real bad but, the timing is horrible and we are concerned about how VIXXXEN will take to another.

I will talk to Mama about it tommorrow and see what she says.

You're a good man Charlie Brown!

I can definately say that the Rat Terrier we have is the best dog I have ever had. She's the smartest too.

Gotta get one of these for Tracy's truck.

I'll let you all know what MAMA says tommorrow and if it's a no, I'll kick in for transport.

I think Flat-Top getting her to Wellington is the best thing yet. I think it was 5 hours to Albequerque?

I just re-formatted this laptop and have no pictures of VIXXXEN to share. Don't tell her though, she'll shit in my shoes.
