After 9/11, I think alot of people forgot about The Fed Building-being from Texas, it's still fresh on my mind. Let's not let these people be forgotten... I know it's hard because this was done my a supposed 'American Patriot (Timothy McVeigh and his militia friends in reltaliation for Waco) not some alien foreigner who doesn't speak like us or look like us. That's why we should be even more vigilant in keeping the memory alive... also a short RIP for the innocents(women, children and some men) in Waco in the Branch Davidian compound which also happened today...
Yeah I'll never forget that day it was kind of strange to think that happened in my home state. Our prayers go out to all the victims familes.
Never forgotten. I grew up in Herington Kansas, where they formulated their plan to bomb the Federal building in OKC. The house is only two blocks away from my old house. Nichols only lived there a month but anytime I tell someone, at here in Kansas, where I'm from they almost always say " wasn't that where Terry Nichols was from?". My reply is always that he only lived there a month. I will never forget it. http://www.cjonline.com/stories/041905/kan_despiterevive.shtml Farmall
I remember the boom...I thought the UPS guy had backed into the building. Shook the whole building. I was about 6 miles away.
It's well remembered in Michigan too. Especially up here where I live. I work about 10 miles from the farmhouse that was pictured in the media when they found out who did it. It was not a proud time in our history that's for sure.
I had gotten in trouble the month before with the police. Nothing big, just silly college ****... I was headed to see my probation officer that morning... in the federal building... I would most likely have been dead if my scheduled meeting was thirty minutes earlier. In the end, my probation office was a**** the dead as well as the mother AND father of one of my fraternity brothers. That was a BLACK year man...
I'm sorry, Ryan. When something like that hits close to home and you have a board this big, your bound to have people that were touched directly...
Whoa. There but for the Grace of God... Kim and I were in NYC on August 30-Sept 2, 2001, have some photos of us and our friends goofing off in the plaza in front of WTC #1. Hard to look at now. My friend Dennis Beazley was working two blocks away on 9-11 was one those dust-covered folks you saw on the news. He's a bond trader, went to over two dozen funerals of people he knew from Cantor Fitzgerald. Another friend, Nigel Hopkins, was staying at the Copley Plaza in Boston the night before, along with half the terrorists. He gave the FBI some witness info. He was scheduled on a 11 am United flight from Boston to San Fran that same morning. Moment of remembrance for OKC, and all victims of terrorism.
