Somewhere north of $10, Gracie'll get parked until a Hydrogen/Electric/Hybrid comes to market that replaces an SBC comes to market. The roadster doesn't have a drivetrain installed yet, so it might get one of those 12-second electric setups that just tear up the quarter miles. The Shoebox still has its flathead -- I think that HAS to stay in there even if it limits the driving.

It doesn't matter if your country is big or small. Most of us spend our hard earned money on fuel to get around town. High fuel prices are not fun, good or welcome .... They make the cost of everything higher.

I'm an American. I lived in the US for all my life. I remember .19 gal gas AND the guy who pumped it for you.... didn't sit in a little bullet proof room providing only the SERVICE of taking your money.

Times change.... not my my love of driving

Those of you that would rather drive than eat are the reason for the HAMB

That's really the bottom line. The guys here that have had a chance to drive
on cheaper fuel are damn lucky. None of us can do anything to the forces
that set the price....like it or not that's the truth.

The fact that there are some of us that still love cars, in-spite of the cost of running them, should be encouraging and that this interest survives even under stupidly high operating costs.

I drive a 1939 GMC it has a 22 gal fuel cell Gas is almost $7 It gets 10-12 miles to that gal on a built 302. If I put my foot way in it half that! I still drive. I'm happy all of us can still drive

If you can't afford to drive or don't like the cost. Sorry none of that is our fault. We still love driving more that anything else.

If you continue to bash people cause they still love driving even if the fuel cost are stupidly high don't ever ask me for a ride. Your no better that the green Gore ****ing *******s you claim to oppose

Ever buy NITRO?? Are you pissed there are guys that do still buy Nitro? And use it the way GOD INTENDED!!??

There's a road racing track a few hundred feet behind our house here. The kids are racing go-karts and scooters..... I hope they never stop.

I think that everyone just needs to keep there peckers in there pants and not have so damn many kids.

Less people = more reasources for those of us here.

I know this town would be much more exciting with about half the people.

That is funny ****. It reminds me of when I talked with the guys that are making the new Strombergs, they started flipping me **** right away, it was pretty damn funny. Brits seem to always have a good sense of humor.

Oh don't get on the population reduction or stabilization bandwagon!
We've already done that and so has Europe...the result? A smaller population of people who are educated and raised to get things done in the civilised nations and a continuing population explosion in the undereducated, uncivilised, and stone age cultures of the world. Keep that idea going and we'll be back in a hunter-gatherer situation in just a generation or two.
We should actually have been enjoying the large families which made this country great, producing the children to continue our tradition of work ethic and the value of education, not families of one or two kids with a working mom and dad they never see who turn out to be the spoiled selfish brats who don't give a damn about our country.

Ha Ha Ha. I am a BIG buyer at $6 a Gallon.

We pay nearly $10! Kind of makes me want to reconsider my choice of using a Big Block.... NOT!

As long as petrol is cheaper than Milk we are doing ok.

Now if you could just get the China, India and the rest of the third world to "keep their peckers in their pants" you would be right!! They want to live like us Americans have for years, but who can blame them. Actually it's Nixon's fault, he opened up China for trade with the west.

That always gets me about illegals having kids and them being automatic citizens. So If I break into a bank and stand behind the counter and accept money from every customer that hands it to me does that make it my kid's money now?:D
They broke the law to get here and then their kid's get rewarded.

    Back to the topic now:
Rising gas prices will not only affect the people that can barely afford hot rodding now, it'll affect everybody with higher prices for everything. All the low priced items Wal-Marx has now still have to be trucked there. And those prices will go up too. The salary increase never keeps in step with the higher prices.

And these are the bikes I ride now to save on gas.

Why don't we just nuke 'em and steal their oil? Would solve a lot more problems besides the $6/gal gas. Do it when the oil execs are over there for a conference.

The point that I was making when I referred to paying cash or a 1/2 tank is that you will be a hell of a lot more aware of what you spent when you have to reach into your pocket and pay the guy $50.00 cash at the counter. Problem again is nobody wants to do anything about it. You have to understand that the gas companies and credit card companies have made everything to easy. Pull up to the pump, swipe the card, wait for it to cut off and go. Most people don't even know how much they spent not to mention the bank fees and BS you pay to have it easy. I guarantee you, if you pay cash for a month and only buy 1/2 a tank instead of a full one, you'll be a lot more aware of what your spending and you'll conserve more. Everyone has an excuse why they can't do this or can't do that and aren't even willing to try. Wake up man! I don't care what you say, when you reach in your pocket and give the man $50 in cash, you'll think about it more because it means more when you see the cash move from hand to hand. And, the fuel pump thing is complete BS too. I've been doing this for years and have never had a FP problem so that doesn't fly. What other excuses do ya have?

I can't answer for you, you can't answer for me. We'll just have to agree to disagree on this.

Trust me, *I* know how much it hurts to fill up my tanks. $50? I'd LOVE for it to be that cheap, but that only fills up about 3/4 of the tank. Besides that, when I fill up my tanks, its usually payday, which means we have money. When its the next week, we be broke ***es. The miles I drive are less than they used to be, but it still costs me more.

Personally, I say we go in, take over the oil fields, and then control what we want it to be. **** OPEC and those who control the flow.

Everyone's en***led to my opinion. Just ask.

We've been around $1.20 per litre all this year in Australia, so that's about $A6 an (imperial) gallon. I put $50 per week in my tank, Deb uses about half that, and the kids about the same. We're still driving and I'm about to start building a rod, probably V8 powered!

    Cheers, Glen.
