OT - The balance of my hot rod fund is going to our dog.

  1. Mike the dog says "get well soon" woof.

  2. We went an visited Annie this morning. She looked scared and tired but is doing great!

Containment is an issue. We're going to be trying one of the invisible fences. Any suggestions as to which one? I do realize that training is a big part of making them work.

  3. 5window - the dog is actually doing great. It has been 8 weeks or so now and she is starting to play in the back yard with the other dogs again. She stayed on the couch almost all of the first 4 weeks. Containment is tough. She is about 2 (its a rescue dog, so we don't know). Man you have to really work on containing them because the pain meds hide the pain and they want to jump of stuff - the hardware held even though she sometimes got out - jumped the baby gate . She is a good dog. Was it worth it - to my wife yes. She has collected up 6 of them so it makes it hard to have that one dog that's your buddy with that many. I'm more of a 1 dog man. If I had 6 cars to work on all the time - that would be too much ... or would it

I agree that the surgery work and skills required are amazing. They did excellent work - very complicated. The first vet suggested to cut it off - would not even touch it. In the long run the money is a small price - it just comes at you fast and when emotions are high.

We have the electric fence from Pet Smart. Works great - 9 settings - I could only take up to 3. The real work is training them on it. I would recommend it if you are going to work with the dog. Invisible Fence is like the whole deal. they install and train. But that quote was $2500 (for 5 dogs) and the Pet Smart fence was about $600 (with 5 collars).

Got to love em life would be down right boring without them. Keep us posted on her progress.
