If you could have one of these cars built for real to own, which one would it be and why?

I would pick the "Mach 5", Speed Racer was a favorite cartoon of mine back in the 70's and i heard they actually had a real one made and show cased at the Peterson's museum in Hollywood, but when i went their last Monday they were closed when i got there, so i couldn't see it:(
does anyone have pics of the real one that was made and what car did they model it from?

BATMOBILE. fromt he Michael Keaton movies. i LOVE that car, always have. i still get excited when i see pics of one. someday i may own one. even if i have to build it myself.

Pinball was just telling me he met a guy who is building a Mach 5 clone right now. set it up on a Corvette ch***is i guess. that'd be cool as hell to see going down the road. they both would and i'd drive the wheels off em both too. if they were mine.

  4. But you know, you CAN own one. Speed!

Mach 5. Easily. It flies, goes under water, and cuts the **** out of stuff.

But Racer X's car beats both the Mach 5 and the Bat Mobile.

RacerX was cool but seemed like a bit of knee jerk. His car looked like a big gay bumble bee. [IMG] Mach 5 all the way dude. Although, Snake's ride was cool and a bit more tricked out than his followers. I would still opt for the Skull Duggery ride.

  7. Ir would have to be the ORIGINAL batmobile, the one made from the Lincoln Futura, otherwise, the Mach 5 is pretty swoopy

It would be the Mach 5 for sure. If you want to see a DJ in DFW that has 2 Batmobiles and 1 Mach 5 check out www.russmartin.com they are pretty sharp. I like the 66 Batmobile but the Mach 5 has all those goodies on it , saws that come out of the bumper, stilts, swims!!! [IMG]

Sorry....trying to type the way they talk on that show....

Anyone remember the little blind girl they cam accross living alone in the woods?

I think her name was "Delishia"?

A bit scandalous I'd say...but then again what should I expect from the show that brought us "Car Wrestling"

  10. There's a guy here in Northville that builds "original" style Batmobile clones... it's cool to see one on Main Street! [IMG]

I'd go for the Batmobile, so I could walk around going

I'd take K.I.T.T and kick all of your ***es! [IMG]

Not only could it crash through brick walls, jump over obstacles and drive on top of water...it could TALK to you and take over the wheel when you wanted to sleep, fool around or have a beer! There were also TV screens in the dash, and Patricia McPherson to bend over and check the spark plugs inthe super roomy semi trailer!

And besides...83 Trans Ams are babe magnets...just drive one through any trailer park and take your pick! Ha Ha Ha...thanks...now I want one even MORE!!!

Hack's got a point with K.I.T.T., but I'm still partial to the Mach 5. When I was a kid, my dad forbid me from watching Speed Racer because it was "too violent". Guess he didn't like the fact that no one ever walked away from all those flaming car accidents. Would be a kick to show up in his driveway with the car from the "banned" cartoon!! [IMG]

All the cars mentioned are great!

Does anyone remember the cartoon MASK, where they all had cars that turned into stuff? There was the blue flamed 57 chevy with mags that turned into a tank. The continental kit was a missle or bomb or something? I wish I still had the toy.

Looking back it was kind of lame, but it was for kids. They would shoot lazers and missles and blow each other up, but they were always fine and thier car was fixed in time for next week's episode! Oh, and the good guys always won!

1989 Batmobile. I'm in the design phase of building my own replica even as we speak.

There is a Radio DJ here in dallas that has both kit cars of the Mach 5 and the original Batmobile. www.russmartin.com has pictures of them both. I was told that this DJ would rather build the replicas then spend his money on a real car built by a well known customizer from cali. Oh well to each is his own

    got pics?
after seeing all these nice Batmobile replicas, i'm starting to lean more towards the 60-70's one rather than the mach 5 now, seems to have a better interior as well:)
