Sorry for the OT post, but news is showing that Ray Charles just p***ed away....I know there are a lot of musicians on this board as well as Hot Rodders.... makes you wonder who's gonna be the 3rd one?
Wife and I had tickets to the first "gig" Ray ever cancelled. That was early this year, think it would have been his last. Sad day!............OLDBEET
Man, I sure hate to hear that. He was one of my favorite artists. He could rock a keyboard like nobody's business. RIP Ray. Tony, dude, are you still hammered from last night? That was some cold ****e. But funny. Big Daddy Eric PS: That third one is shapin' up to be 'Large The Butcher', if y'all haven't been to the cl***ifieds, go check out the custom poncho ad and get a laugh or two.
Hellen Keller once said the only thing sadder than a man without sight is a man without vision. When you look at the diversity of musicians Ray played with over the years and the influence he had on music in general I would say he had the vision thing down. I don't think I have seen anyone perform with more raw emotion than Ray. He will be missed.
Just heard the news. Had the plesure of seeing him when I was about 14 or 15 in the early 80s. What a show! One of the greats. RIP brother Ray.

Did the bodyguard/****** thing for him on a USO gig in the Phillippines back about 77. I've got mixed emotions. Great artist and music, but I was damned glad to see him leave. He treated me OK, but he was pretty rude to everyone around him.
Tony, that is just wrong. I hope someone talks **** about you the day you die. What ****s is that is 2 of the big three I wanted to see... Johnny Cash and Ray. Better go see Wille soon, hopefully he won't be next. Jay
Ever see a singer stop and chew out his band in the middle of a song onstage? Then make them go over and over it? Maybe he was just having a bad day.
I hope someone does too...as long as it's a joke. Jesus man. Death is a natural thing that happens to all of us. Take humor everywhere you can get it. Even in death. If you want to take the high and mighty path and think you're all righteous that's fine by me. I'll just keep being Joe Average Happy Guy and cracking jokes. [ QUOTE ] Tony, that is just wrong. [ QUOTE ] Please, please, pleeeeeease, let the next one be Alec Baldwin... [/ QUOTE ] I vote Joan Cusack!
No, not Joan Cusack. I like Grosse Point Blank and Alec Baldwin is one of the funniest SNL hosts ever (Make me laugh, Canteen Boy). Two words; Carrot Top. Sad to hear Ray is gone. He always seemed so happy.
I'm not being high and mighty. Ask any of the Gay Michigan *****es, it is the last thing I am... well mighty anyways. Just show some respect dude. Oops, drama... I banish myself from posting... til the next one. Jay
