Hey, I found a cool one too! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4wTgPFyv6gk lmao.. just messin with ya man.
That's great! Could you imagine that commercial being aired nowadays. It would be followed by a Jacoby and Meyers Law Firm commercial advertising for liability claims for children injured while trying to do better tricks than their friends. It's a shame what this world has come to. Kids today truly miss being able to be kids. Thanks for the trip back through time!
I had one of those! It was on my non-regulation Sting-Ray clone, painted Testor's green metalflake. Whatta rush to see that ad 40+ years later!
Man, that takes me back!! When I was about 10, I got a Sears "Stingray-style" bike for Xmas---saved money for about 6 months and traded it and cash for a REAL Stingray---metalflake green---WITH A SLICK---then bought a wheely bar later---did you know Ed Roth invented it ,then licenced it to Whammo? When I bought my first car, I gave the bike to a kid down the street---it was no big thing by then.
I had a Stingray bike like that but it had a springer front end and hand brakes....best I remember, it was called the "orange crush" or something. Thanks.
I never had a Wham-O wheelie bar,but I had a thing called a Vrrrooom Engine on my Sting Ray. Battery powered plastic thingy that mounted on the down tube with a key. It made engine sounds & if you set it just right it would cackle like a Top Fuel motor.
yep, kinda makes ya wonder how we survived all of that, bikes with no helmets, barefoot. No cellphone for mom to check up on us..... i can see the Jim Adler ad now....."I will Hammer & hammer to get money for your bicycle injury...." sheesh
waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay *****in!!!!!!!!! never had the pleasure as a child so one just has to be fabbed and installed on my lowrider. Just because.
