    In the CD changer now:
The End of the Innocence. Don Henley
    16 Biggest Hits. Roy Orbison
Rickie Lee Jones. Rickie Lee Jones
    Best of. David Bowie
Tuesday Night Music Club. Sheryl Crow
Rockabilly Riot Volume 1. Brian Setzer

I'm a full range music listener, except never Opera or Rap, but then, those don't qualify as music in my world.

If I just turn the FM on it'll be playing Jazz & Blues from KKJZ, also on the internet at: http://www.kkjz.org/

I've been checking out a site lately that I think alot of you music-buffs will enjoy:

    www.pandora.com

Basically, that designed the site to examine an artist based on their musical style, and then play other artists that share that style. Don't mistake "style" for "genre". The site doesn't care if music magazines call it classic rock, or country. If it shares instrumentation, time structure, vocalist type, etc, it will get played together. So, you will end up being exposed to alot of bands that you never heard of before, who have alot in common, musically, with other bands you already know you like.

Basically, you go on there, type in your artist of choice's name, and it creates a virtual radio station that only plays similar artists.

It hasn't had every obscure band I've typed into it to search, but it has had alot of what I've tried. Also, I haven't liked EVERY artist it has chosen, but it allows you to skip to the next track on the list...

    It's worth checking out.

Tragic59 is right on about Pandora, it's a great site, especially if you have a high-speed connection.

The Legendary Shack Shakers have been in heavy rotation. Solid rock-a-billy from some good 'ole boys from Nashville. If you get a chance to see 'em do it 'cause the guys pretty much start a riot everytime there in town.

  24. I think I'm in there with Kirk!'s playlist on iTunes.

Here's what's in the magic box:

Supreme Beings of Leisure (great bass lines)
    Tosca
    Donald Fagen
    The The
    Southern Culture on the Skids
    The Smiths
    The Cult
    Dave Edmunds
    Air
    The Pretenders

No wonder I can't get anything done-the tempo is all wacked out!

I have been listening to pandora.com lately. You can't beat it for free online music. Some of the stuff that they play is lame, but you can skip it or go to another channel. I have about seven different stations set, punk, blues, country, ect. I am listening to the Meteors right now. Give it a try.
