After a rash of***** from K-Member and J-Kustom I've decided to give an update and post a pic. of what I started with. History: It's a 63 Pan FLH that is in tip-top mechanical shape. It was a very nice bike as purchased...but I can't leave well enough alone. Where I'm at: It's stripped down to a rolling chassis w/ most components off, heading to the powdercoater or painter. Where I'm headed: Tin and Paint- Wish I could figure the damn paint scheme out. Was going to run it in bare metal, powdercoated over in clear but decided I wanted to stay more true to the era. It's looking like wild, Watson/Dean Jeffries style panels. Not sure on the colors yet. Chrome- Very*********'d little of it. I like it on straight-up show bikes, but hate it when people just bolt stuff on here and there. Wheels- See my thoughts above on chrome. I'm keeping em' black. Bars: Re-God-Damned-Diculously extra huge Motor- Converted it from 6-Volt to twelve. Also am running a new S & S carb. rather than the old Linkert. Exhaust- See note on chrome again. Black, damn it! My two cents: I'm taking something that many people search, dig, and look for all their lives (a pristine, unrestored, era-correct bike) and decreasing the value of it exponentially by modifying it. I know this But hey, I'd rather have something that's a reflection of me than a reflection of what the factory had to offer back when. That said, I'm keeping all the original parts and plan to restore the bike to showroom some day. Just not now. It'll be back together w/ in 6 weeks. I'll post pic.'s along the way.
[ QUOTE ] and decreasing the value of it exponentially [/ QUOTE ] If you're decreasing the value exponentially, wouldn't that be logarithmically? Oh yeah, sweet bike!!
WOW Mang, that bike is gonna look so different after seeing it like the above pic for the last 10 years. Can't wait to see the end result.

[/ QUOTE ] There's a fair chance that the end result will scare old ladies and make little kids smile. ...at least that's what I'm hoping for There's also a fair chance that I'll have*****ed up something cool. I'm OK w/ that though
thats cool, i have a 65 i restored...first bike, restored it from a basket case, started when i was 15 and im 22 now and i just got it done.. still need a factory mirror and luggage rack though. wanna sell me a mirror and stem?? hehe. i wouldnt touch the frame on that though though I have a bunch of parts for a 58 pan laying around i might put together some day.
That's kill Caffeine. I love the black. You can find the luggage racks on EBay often. As for the long stem Harley factory mirrors: They're rarer than a hen's teeth. Once I get this one done it's going to need company in the garage. Going to import a restored WLA from across the pond and do it up period perfect bobber style. Narrow the tanks, narrow and flip the bars, relocate the seat, and get after the motor w/ a good cam, carb., magneto, bunch of compression, and an Indian Flywheel. The old Indian flywheel trick gets you a nifty stroker.
See! was that so hard? Looks good anthony, but I dont really see you on it like it looks in the "before" pic...I cant wait to see how it ends up!
