  1. I agree. I'm sleeved, got em on my chest, etc, but the one down the length of my ribcage that I sat 4 hours for hurt like a *****. Not so much in the beginning, but after about 3 hours it ****ed.

hahaha. Like most things in life the older I get, the more they hurt.
I remember getting my first one at 14. The old prison way. Ball point pen, indigo ink, a dc motor, guitar string and Jack Daniels. Didn't feel a thing. 18 years later appreciation turned into obsession and I have not stopped they just hurt more. It's art plain and simple but always makes for a great discussion.

    Nice piece.

  4. Ha the KEY is that we all get the easy spots done first!!! It always hurts more the more covered you are! Maybe people should start with their damn neck and ribs first, THEN when they finally get to their arms that **** will be easy as hell!

[IMG] Here is one I got a couple of weeks ago. I have since added shading to it. Its Dirty Donny's art work from Steve Caballero's current skateboard deck, and yes I own the "coupe de cab" that's why I got the tattoo!

Collar bone was the worst for me... I handled the ribs, armpit area, and achilles just fine... but that collar bone ****ed both times I had work done on my chest.

Thanks for the compliments guys, even you Kirk as if you are sledging me it means I have really made it :) But as I said all I did was have an idea and sat there when it was done. HAMBer GEE drew it and Wayan at Mr Dolphin layed it on.

Bali was awesome Mike. Have you been? Scored some nice waves 5ft + at Uluwatu, Nusa Dua etc etc. Had a birthday there and did my bit to consummate Australian-Canadian relations ;) :)

Quite a while ago I actually fell asleep whilst getting some of my upper arms done after a 6 pack and a smoke ;) The tattooist put the gun down and shook me thinking I had feinted. I near had a heart attack when I was woken like that having forgotten for a moment where I was and opened my eyes all I could see was a huge guy with a long red beard and through that a Bandidos T-shirt.

I get the guys to start where it hurts most and its not too bad, although if the 1st one (Upper outer arm) hurt like the last one I may only have the one :)

A good trick I have learnt is to take a really good book to keep your mind off it. Also saw a guy the other day getting a full back watching dvd’s on his lap top.

I guess Ol' Finky's 'traditional' enuff.

This one hurt like hell, but only because it's a cover over another piece I had done to cover a large burn scar I had. It's big and took several hours.

Vey nice work panhead, looks like the guy knows what he is doing.Make no mistake about it cars are hard to do.The lines have to be straight to line up.If not it won't look right but not the case here he nailed it.
I have always enjoyed the color ones also they really stand out when you first get them.

  26. I agree, I got a truck done a bunch of years ago and the guy that did it screwed it all up. It was before I learned the difference between a cheap tattoo and a good tattoo.
