me and my buddy are trying to get a little bit of a custom business going on, and this is our first paying gig, 63 impala SS...been hit in the back, and theres a little bit of rust around the bottom edges, but other than that she's REAL solid. has a ****TY flake job on it right now, you can't even see the flake in the pictures. You can feel every single flake on it like sandpaper though. just getting a mild custom job, blue body, white roof w/flake (if we can decide what flake she wants, she wants flake, but she wants it to stay looking white). it'll get lowered with some cool wheels. Dash will match the roof. These pictures kinda **** so if anyone can fix em, feel free....
yeah, I'm good as long as i stick to the body and paint, haha. My buddy is more mechanically inclined so we make a pretty good pair....This is him with his POS 54.....
yeah, I'm gonna get some better pics today. The cam had some ****ty batteries in it on top of the ****ty lighting. This isn't a "real" customer so to speak, it's a girl we know, but we're still gonna get a little bit out of the deal, but nowhere near as much as we should. WE're basically doing it so people around here will see what we can do, this girl knows EVERYONE so the car will either make us or break us....more pics to come.
use the silver flake you've got a ton of. just don't go a heavy as you did on the poncho. should look good and you've aready got a ****load as you said. i need a little for the roof on the buick. could've sworn i had some silver prism around here somewhere and cant find it or the blue glowble i had. **** comes up missing like that all the time. what blue are you going to use? something that could look cool would be to use just a little blue pearl over the top too. just so when the sun hits it right the white get a little blue reflection to the edges. just thinkin'. theres a light blue metallic that is a stock color on of all thing the new kias(they actually have a few nice colors) that i want to use on something may end up being the new color for the buick. i was thru your way friday but didn't have your # or time to stop. the wife and i were going to the coast for a job interview for her. woulda swung by your place if i coulda remembered how to get there but didn't have a clue. good luck on your first run. as always if theres anything i can do just yell. i'm gonna be tryin some stuff out on some test panels in the next few days/weeks so if ya got some ideas you wanna try let me know. alot of it has to do with test ideas with candies pearls flake that i've been curious about lately and have never done. **** how about abalone flake for the roof?...ken.... oh yeah sparkler-****!!! now thats some funny ****.......
i mentioned the abalone flake to her, but no one around here has a HOK color book, the nearest place is about an hour drive and I dont' remember them having the abalone last time i was in there. I saw a chip of it online, but it's hard to tell what it looks like on a computer screen. You dont' happen to have one of those books do ya? If you need some of the silver flake I've got i have some to spare, you just have to bring your *** down here to get it. Then you can come check out the 63. She wants to keep the car pretty simple, I've got all kinds of ideas for it, but the flake on the roof and dash is the only thing she's gone for....she just wants a little something done to it to set it apart from the stock impalas. Can't wait to tell jason about the "sparkler ****" comment....hahaha.
tell "sparkler ****" to put on some saftey gl***es if he values his eyesight (and i'd bet he does)...
I've got a tip on the photos. Wait until daytime! Good Luck with the new endeavour and let us know how it progresses.
