She posted on Facebook at 2 am on Saturday, that must be good right? Still praying for you Julie until you tell us to stop! Get better!

  14. Julie is doing really good. After laying still for almost 3 months, She has to re-learn just about everything a human being does in her daily life. She is improving every day and is way ahead of what the doctors thought she would be.

She still can not stand up on her own but has good use of her hands now. She is getting some mobility in her legs and can bend her knees. This allows her to sit in a wheelchair and see the outside world. We sat outside on Friday and just watched the cars go by. Something she has not seen in a long time.

The doctor has capped her tracheostomy and she is breathing very well. The next step is to place a "button" over it for a few days. The next step after that will be removing it.

She has her phone and can get on facebook. Pop in and say hello. "Julie McQuade", She would love hearing from you.

Again, Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers. ........ Mark

something that sounds so simple as "sitting outside and watching the cars go by"

we all take for granted until the opertunity is taken from us. we all need to slow down and sit with some one we love and watch the cars go by. pleased you have gotten the chance again .

my thoughts are with you guys.

Wow, that is amazing. She is definitely a hell of a hard fighter, that is for sure. Sounds like it will be a long road ahead for her, but sounds like she is on the right path.

Best of luck Julie. Hope you get back on your feet real soon!

Great to hear things are going well and in a positive direction. Tried posting yesterday but my computer was acting up.

  27. Just a quick uprate..

The doctor removed Julie's gastric tube (feeding tube) yesterday morning and came back around 2pm and removed her tracheostomy tube. The only thing left is an I.V. in her left hand. She is working every day to improve her strength. She is able to move her legs now and can sit on the edge of the bed.

With some luck. Julie will be able to come home in the next few days. She has 123 days in the hospital. We are working with the doctors to set up therapy outside the hospital. She will be in a wheelchair for a while and will need to be on oxygen until her lungs get stronger.

Again, Thank you for the prayers and healing vibes. ... Mark..

if by chance you are at Loma Londa and meet Dr McIntyre-Heller, tell her that Larry Woods wants her to use all her "magic" in getting Julie "back".
