For those that have been wondering what we have been up to: here's the scoop

Our '36 was officially sold and re-homed on Sunday and we went to look at this car on Saturday night. We pretty much decided it was a done deal the day the check was handed over for the '36.

It makes me grin ear to ear to say this but this is OUR 1930 Model A Coupe. It is 100% original. The interior is all original and the paint is very old (although the paint job appears 1950's-ish). The car runs and drives and has new Firestones all around. It needs to be dialed in but she starts right up and goes down the road. You probably wouldnt believe it but the car has 75K on it and it doesnt smoke or anything. The floors are solid and there appears to be no patch panels or mud on the car. It has obviously been very well cared for and looked after its entire life. The roof hasnt leaked or anything since the original headliner is still nice.

    Our plans?

Drive the living daylights out of the car come spring. We're going to spend the winter dialing it in and getting her ready for a summer full of driving. Our plans will eventually lead to hot rodding it. I know some won't like this idea but we sold the '36 because we didnt have the money, space, and tools to fix it....so now we're starting with something as solid as it gets and we feel very fortunate for that.

So without further adieu ...HAMB....Meet "Abilene"

That is awesome. Really nice looking car from the dark pictures. I can tell you exactly what I would do if that was mine. Since they made 4 million of them, I'd get to chopping and I would drive the wheels off it while collecting parts, I'd build a 32 frame ready for a OHV such as a Nailhead or a Rocket, maybe a Cadillac . Then when I was ready I would pull the body and make it fit the frame. I'd keep the stock ch***is and build a T roadster or a speedster on it. Recycling at it's best. ;)

Not that any of that matters.....

great find. I know you're gonna have fun.

I Love 36 Fords and model A's,... but you made a Great decision when you sold a project and bought a running car. Not only running but, a really nice coupe by the way! I think you saved a bunch of money in the long run, plus the best part, Now you can enjoy the Sh!t out of it. Good for you, and post some pics of your adventures this spring/summer also !!!

definately will do. My face hurt by the time we brought it back home tonight from smiling so much after our drive around our sleepy little town. My next door neighbor is a model A guru so he's going to help us get 'er going nicely. As much as we want to make it a hot rod; for now we're going to enjoy her as-is in all of the originality. Its actually pretty neat.

For those looking for daylight photos...here it is in all it's glory this morning....

She's off to her first day at work :). They are likely going to finally salt the roads tonight and the rest of the week; so Joey figured he would enjoy the drive in it.

Please excuse the dirt on the windshield, etc. She's a bit dusty and could use a good scrub down or wipe down

Where in CT are you? We tend to randomly end up in places because we go for drives with no planned route hahaha; so we could end up just about anywhere....

Sweet coupe! I'm glad you are taking the path you are, you will enjoy the journey.

Not that you asked, I would lower it and put some 16" spoke wheels with hydraulic brakes and enjoy. It can be more fun keeping it cheap and simple! Remember Chris' coupe? That was tops!

Either way you go, it is a nice car from what I can see.
