Cool car..I dig solid axle Vettes. I finished a restoration on a 58 for a guy a couple years ago. It looked stock, but wasn't which made if a fun project not having worry about "numbers matching correctness".. Although i don't wanna do another any time soon...that windshield was a pain in the ass!
i was also searing for an ebook, thats what my dad is a gonna do first or any tips on install of it--any tips for me to pass on to him and searching corvette forums, too
Yeah, find someone who's done it before to help. Seriously. I've done a lot with cars, but getting that in place, shimmed and fitted right took the knowledge of someone who had done it before. There's some very expensive parts there being a Vette and i couldn't afford to pay for anything i damaged trying to learn alone. Sorry i couldn't be more help, but i'd rather be honest than steer you in the wrong direction.
nice car - I did a lot of work on a 56 a few years back - lots of detailing, brand new grille and surround, new guages and a complete wiring harness, installed a new aftermarket convertible top frame and top - the wiring was pretty straight forward, but the top frame did not fit well until I bent and twisted it in place. Parts were very expensive and had to hunt around for all the odds and ends. AB
I see the previous owner took the windshield out. Did they brake the stands or did you not get the windshield frame? Can,t look tonight but I may have an assembly manual for that. Restored quite a few of those in the past and alway like the wash board hoods. Also, good luck with that power top. You may want to sell that to fund the restoration. They are a bitch to get working correctly anyways.
my dads seemed obsessed with getting that top to work,he said he does have the windshield frame tho and the trunk spears too-thanks for lookin for manual
