Took the '31 out for a spin middle of last week, 60's and sunny....not bad at all. Took the '23 bucket out for a shake down run Sunday, below freezing w/wind chill.......Can't wait to start complaining about the heat!

Have had some sunny if not warm days here recently. Been to church in the hot rod a couple of times this year. Last week had a nice Saturday and took a ride to the local drive-in for some fries and a drink. Some of the weekly cruis-ins start up in a couple of weeks.

  5. Took the roadster out to a mates place in the hills a few weeks ago. Bit warm, about 100F, but still better than snow. Nothing like open road wide open.

Supposed to be 44 and sunny this weekend in Chicago. I have a feeling I might see some HAMB'ers out and about! I know I'll be!

I'd like to see more pics of your roadster Aussie Oldie. Great view in that shot, but still can't get used to the pics from the left side of the road....

Great photo! You Aussie cats epitomize what hot rodding is all about. Sure wish they would let you guys run fenderless over there.

  11. Yeah, we certainly got the weather for it on the West coast. We use the rod every chance we get. Even the winters are pretty mild. It's a shame, I know, having to run fenders, but some states here have a lot worse restrictions than we have here. I would love to do a run like lone star or hot August nites in the US, but that is only a dream for most of us. At least the HAMB gives us good coverage of everything going on over your way.
Ooltewah, Just went back to your pics and enlarged them. That certainly is a cool roadster, and been around a long time,.[nailhead???] How long have you owned it?

Yep, '56 322 Nailhead with a stroker crank. It's a little over 400 cubic inches now. I've only owned it a little over a year. Most of that time has been searching down the history and driving it every chance I get. It's been alot of places and seen alot of things for sure.

Here's the long version with a few twists....

I pulled mine out of the garage, let it run for 5 mins, then pulled it back in. First day of spring (yesterday) 24 degrees with a wind chill of 10. Woo hoo!

Got to drive the old Business Coupe for the first time yesterday. It's been on the back burner for years, but we've been working pretty steady for the last couple of months. Felt so good to actually drive it.
