Well, I should be happy, but I am kinda bummed.....My A coupe is about to get a new rear..the trad. banjo has to go..with 4:11 and a toploader 3 speedy trans..the car is a panic light to light....but SUCKS on the Highway.......And I dig driv'in.I picked up a 8 inch a while ago for $100 and its going in in the next 2 weeks....It has a factory 2.79 gear ratio(non posi).....but hell..at least I can drive it properly. The Lil' red ram was WAILING @ 60mph.(3000 rpm)....this combo should be more than adaquate. The bummer part is I wanted to keep the rear and get a set of 3.54 gears.....then use some firestone champs....but man..too much cost and I wasnt sure I would all work out in the wash. I hope this combo will be better......just the trad part went out the window....
Sound's OK by me, save the old part's maybe you wíll lay your hand's on a 3,54 some day and want to go traditional again. Im thinking on mmounting an overdrive on the tourqe tube, since my 3,78 with 8,20X15 is a bit high on the open road.
Oh yea..I never throw out anything...after the Hemi pick-up is done..gonna tear into the model a for a complete redo.....I have 2 spare red rams and I plan on makin a lil inferno....he heh heh
Nuttin' wrong with runnin' an 8-incher, you Hemi Hoarder, you!!! Those rearends have been around since the 60s anyway, so it's not like you're going billet IRS or anything! (Besides, highway gears make for long, three-gear burnouts with a torquey motor!! )
Hack..your making me feel better!.and by the way...it was a pleasure meeting you at the Autorama....I would have liked to spend longer.....maybe I can get you going on that model we spoke briefly about.....man you have skills..
No problem, Jeff...I got an extra, unbuilt Red Ram Hemi motor laying around, as luck would have it! I'm up for an Art Trade sometime!!!
