One of the best events in LA is the Outriders Picnic. I have been attending for over 30 years. I fell in love with Scott's 32 hiboy sedan and thought you might like to see his upgrades. He started with an old Cornhusker sedan and took it to the next level. A true Hot Rod look and very functional on the street. He added a complete chrome front suspension and tucked the Buick drums/40 brakes in the wheel offset rather than sticking out like so many do. The car is chopped 3 1/2" and is just right in my mind. The wheels are pure 70's looking and place the car in my era. He added a Champ QC which is barely visible below the license plate. The primer finish is flawless.
Lynn, I had a few seconds between meetings and jumped on H.A.M.B. to break up my hectic day and was blown away that you took the time to post about the sedan... Coming from you, it's a huge complement! I haven't attended an Outriders Picnic in probably 20 years, so I was excited to bring my youngest son Greyson (7yrs old), as I used to come with my Dad in his coupe as kid. The cars were stellar! In my attempt to keep tabs on Grey and catch up with so many old buddies, I missed seeing Pepe, otherwise I would have hunted you down! Thanks again for the kind words and hope to run into you soon! Here's a shot of the quick change. It's much more visible from the lift!
Scott, I missed seeing you also, but not your car. It had a crowd around it all day. You can be proud of your enhancements to a top Deuce sedan.
Scott , sorry that I missed you there , say Hi to your dad for me . We also missed your group at Pleasanton this year .
Phil, I found out the shelf-life of a 7yr old at a hot rod picnic with no vendors.... About 3 hours! We didn't make it to Pleasanton this year since we took 8 or 9 days to go to the Lone Star Roundup, which was an awesome road trip to say the least. My Dad is just getting ready to re-paint his coupe (very long story), so hopefully he will be back on the road sooner than later. We did have the T-Bucket out and about not too long ago, so you may see him running around in that!
