Keith, Discovery is in it for the $$$. I doubt a TV production company or network would have more scruples than a "fellow" car guy. Kinda makes one short on "trust" doesn't it? By the way did you finish that '54 on your website?
I'm confused, maybe I'm missing something. The flames on a black 4x4 truck was your concept? Or the concept for the whole show? [ QUOTE ] If you've every poured your heart and soul into a project only to have someone walk away with all the pats on the back while you got bubkiss... [/ QUOTE ] Been there, done that.
I'm with Unkl Ian on this one. When did flames on a black truck become an origional concept. Maybe back in 1948, were you born then? Or are you refering to the slideout tool box? Frank
Hey Cool 57, No but I'm working on it. I hope to have the thing in a good body shop to finish it out and paint it this Summer. Thanks for the reply. KK
Hey UnkL Ian, No This was another car about a year ago, that got alot of press. It was '56 Chevy Speedster. that Chip ended up doing for Titus.
I must have blinked, because I did not see that car on that show, last night. The car him and his Dad did for Titus was in the episode of 'Rides' they did on Chip; which aired many months ago.
now You have not been clear on what it was you designed, was it the slideout toolbox? I dont remember chip saying that it was all his idea, but I could immagine how things could be cut, eddited, or ommited on a show like that. congrats on the design, a neat idea.
Who are you going to trust? Some schmuck on a TV show or one of us? Yeah, I said schmuck... and I don't even know the guy. Jesus guys, back our boy.
looks like he changed it just enough to not give you credit, dont expect any recognition from anybody, we know your good at what you do.
[ QUOTE ] you steal peoples ideas and lie about it and you get your own TV show and get rich. KK [/ QUOTE ] So THAT'S what I'm doing wrong? Somebody give me something to steal, I want to be rich!! Actually, sorry to hear that, but I'm sure it's not the first time, or the last, something like that will happen. Al Gore stole the internet idea from me you know.
I actually like your concept better. Chaulk it up to one of lifes lessons. Like my dad said to me when I got stiffed by a bigname years ago, "you always pay for your education". As far as chip, fuck him. Not the first time I've heard he's stiffed someone.
Hey Retrofire, I got your "press kit" that everyone else got a couple years ago when you were originally wronged by Chip & Titus. I feel bad for you but move on already- NOBODY is going to give you credit at this point so go and design something else that you will get proper credit for. Not geting into it on a chat board, but we all know problems exist there that are deeper than copying your design.
Hey retrofire, Maby you should take credt for this car that Chip also built. It's a 56' roadster with blue on it. "you must have designed it too"
I think it's funny how they changed just enough of your design to rip out all the good hot rod bits and turn it into a Boydster. Blah. [ QUOTE ] Hey retrofire, Maby you should take credt for this car that Chip also built. It's a 56' roadster with blue on it. "you must have designed it too" [/ QUOTE ] I don't think you get it, retrofire drew the car, gave it to Titus, Titus gave it to Chip Foose who built it, and then Chip Foose went around saying "Look at this awesome car I designed!" Also the one in your pic isn't a roadster and it isn't anywhere near as similar to the one retrofire drew.
Man that's fucked up!!! What goes around comes around, that's what my parents taught me...I got your back!!!
