    Hi guys,

This is a bit of an overdue introduction. I've seen the "New to Hamb? Introduce yourself" at the top of the page for many months now, but it never actually occurred to me to do it. Not sure why. At any rate, I finally took it upon myself to read the "Read this first" post (seemed logical enough), and discovered that I should probably make a formal introduction. So here goes...

My name is Dan. I live in Jupiter, FL. My brother and I run a hot rod/restoration shop called Dicimato.

We've been in the restoration business going on 11 years now. As far as I can remember we were both interested in vintage cars and one day my brother, still in high school, decides he's going to buy a '69 Firebird to restore. So, he goes to work for my dad doing lawn maintenance, saves up some cash, and rents a single car warehouse. We begged and borrowed for tools and after a little while we had a very poorly built yellow 1969 Firebird. (A car that still has me cursing John Z's name till this day.)

In the meantime, we were able to pick up a couple cheap first gen f-bodies and scored a '67 and '69 Camaro for about $600 a piece. After we unloaded the Firebird (actually turning a profit by the good grace of God), we started cranking on the Camaros.

We'd basically buy a car, build it, and drive it until it sold.

As a teenager I fed my car building addiction by working in restaurants, a video game store and finally at a bank. Pretty soon though, what we once considered a hobby started paying for itself, and quickly turned into a business.

We've grown out of few different shops, and we have a little facility now with a couple bays and spray booth.

So, there's the history of Dicimato in a nutshell.

As far as me personally -- I've been with a few gorgeous girls in my short 24 years, and I've seen both coasts of this great nation. I've seen the breath-taking vistas of the Colorado rockies, and the crystal-clear water of the Florida keys. But till this day I don't think anything in this world is more beautiful than a small block Chevy with a 6 deuce. Ok, ok... I'm definitely not claiming to have seen it all, not by a longshot, so I'll just cover my bases and say a 409 with a 6 deuce...

Anyways, hopefully that satisfies my introduction, and sorry for being a little long-winded.

It's pleasure being a part of such an esteemed community. All you guys kick ass and it's always a blast and an educational experience to rummage through your posts.

Thank you for all of your knowledge up to this point, and thanks in advance for all the stuff I'll learn from you guys in the future.

    Welcome to the forum Dan!
One of the best intro's I've seen in a long time, not long winded at all - you just get what this place is about, which is a very good thing.
