    Hey all,

I have/found an old gl*** dixie cup dispenser that I'm considering using as a coolent overflow tank. It looks like a 2.5 foot scientific test tube. The gl*** is pretty thick since it was made before the world got cheap but it's not pyrex.

Think it will shatter from the hot coolent?

    Thanks,
    Carl

probably not..but the first time you dink it with a wrench working on something else it might.

or if its really cold out one day and for some strange reason your radiator pukes out real hot coolant it might

Try boiling water in it first? But stand back.

  4. I wouldn't worry as much about the temperature as much as vibrations, or thinks hitting it. It should be OK if mounted carefully

I wouldn't worry about it. Reneault used gl*** overflow bottles for years. Looked like a big mason jar in there.

Thanks guys - I've had this thing for 20 years wondering what to do with it. You're right - I'll break it on install lol.

btw - it's going in a closed hood car
