Any body know a source for oversize pilot bushings? Putting a 406ci sbc in my 37 chevy, stock crank but the pilot hole measures 1.104 so the bushing is loose. Tried to nurl one, that picked up .005 but not quite enough. Any advice appreciated!
If it is a slip fit now, with no wobble, "Green" Loctite called "bearing mount" is rated for .005" slop, so it should hold on the knurls.. Or, any machinist can make a steel liner to fit the crank, and then turn the bronze bushing to fit into that.
I know they use to offer them a while back for Chevys I am pretty sure they were .010 oversize. There is a parts place on Long Island that may have it, they were known for having everything at one time if you can't find it try MARS in Bayshore NY.I use to get them from the parts place I use to deal with in the 70's and 80's but I don't know anyone there anymore.
