OK heres the deal..I know of a great junk yard that still has some cool stuff at great prices. went there today and picked up some steelies for the Gay car and found a bunch of stuff I know you guys would love. Now, the guy has some rules that we will all go over once there. But its usual junk yard stuff. Don't walk on cars ETC.... My problem is that I don't really know half of what I'm looking at, and I know some of you guys can make a car from basically nothing..so... who wants in? Junk yards like this one are slowly disapearing. Old tin and great junk guys that know thier***** are becoming rare out here. So rather than support Boyd*****-In-Hand and Mullet Specialties, lets support the folks that make our cars different. Scrap Yards! We can all meet up at my house and caravan out there. Make a day of it. Then have lunch and trade stories later. Sound cool? Spike
If I can fit it into my busy schedule of combing my mullet and polishing my gold chains (oh wait, that's you!), I'll be there. Ed
Ed, I use a BRUSH (round) and a blow dryer on MY mullet..Not a comb..And most of the billet is gone now... Spike
When? We're plannin on doin that over here too? Several weekends of nuttin but junkyards....sounds like heaven Clark
I don't like junkyards because they're dirty!Wouldn't it be easier to just buy new stuff? Let me know when-where on both trips!I think I'll jump on the wagon as well! There's a yard in my area you guys might dig.Let's set up some dates.
Rule #1- Clark has to be blindfolded to make things fair for the rest of us... . Well, the trip must be on a Saturday because thats usually when I have off of work...
Sounds like fun. When do ya plan on it so I can figure out a plan . Then I gotta figure how to get to your place later plmczy
spike i am in! which yard are you thinkin? the one down route one way? or one of those in jersey. I think we need a tour of Kowalaski's (spelling) and then a run to a yard I know of in the reading area.. lets set up some dates..
I AM So READY for this....i will be there, and yes, clark should be blindfolded, or at least asked to sign a waiver, something...I am stoked!!!!!!!!! just tell me where and when i will be ready!
Great! sounds like I had a good idea for once. Sawzall- this IS the yard we talked about. I have to work this Saturday so thats out. I'm off next and every other one after that. So that will be... Sat- Sept.27th Sat.- Oct.4th Sat- Oct.18th I'm hoping for the 27th of Sept. Hope everyone else is free that day. Spike
Unkl Ian- Sorry...thats Southern Jersey..but you can still come anyway! Sawzall- your idea sounds great as well! I'll call the Kowalskis and set up a date. Or did you want to do it on the same day? Let me know! Spike
[ QUOTE ] We should get someone to make an email list of everybody whos in... [/ QUOTE ] In general, we should have an email list of the area HAMBers. My email is haring@fedora.net
spike, no i dont know kowleski, the yard I am speakin of is most likely still "overgrown" with weeds and such... we should wait a few weeks for the growth to die off. and remember that englishtown, carlile and hershey are comin..
Let me know when I'm up for it. Spike, We don't want to blind fold clark that dueschbag can spot cool***** a mile away, remember he is injured and slow so he can point it out and we'll go take it.For Lullabelle I'll bring some disposable gloves and a pair of overalls for ya. Looking forward to it. Glasshole
hi where is this junkyard? i'm in central nj and i sure my friend would go if he's not busy. i would need to know where the place is and what not .. the 27th is englishtown swap meet.but i can skip a day if my friend wants to go to the junkyard
I'll volunteer to keep track of everybodies email addy's..just pm me with your address and i make a folder for them..Sean
here's my email addy....the 27th is probably the best for me...sarah will be away in mn for a wedding...i will be stoked... Bryanbarts@hotmail.com let's get this going!!
i think this is a good idea, but i'd say that the 27th of sep.is too soon... give it a month or so to let the posion ivy and ticks die off a bit. once the leaves drop you can see alot more too.
