Pa Hamb And Scrapple Weekend Roll Call!

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by HomemadeHardtop57, Apr 21, 2008.

  1. That is automotive history! They built bodies for Caddilac and maybe other auto manufacturers. Caddlac fleetwoods were fleetwood bodies on caddilac ch***is. Search the net and you will find some history on them. Many companies did this, thus bodies by fisher on Chevrolets.

  2. While I'm on the soapbox, I want to thank Jerry for the invite to the Hamb & S****ple breakfast!! I met some very nice people and look forward to the next, whenever that might be. Not a big turn out, maybe due to weather concerns, but a good chance to meet and get to know some fellow Hambers.
    Thanks again Jerry, Bill

We'll be taking the month of May off because alot of us are going up to the Violators show in Oley on May 3rd www.violatorsmotorclub.com and also the Jalopy Showdown and the Jalopy Drags mid May...just too much stuff happening in May to have another HAMB and S****ple.
I have some pretty cool **** planned for June....stay tuned!

Just a heads up. The Last Saturday in June is when we're having our annual BBQ/Car Show. I'm not sure what you guys had planned, but your all welcome to come down to Limerick. There's no admission and we're cooking free food from noon - 2:00 or until we run out.

You can check out all the details on http://www.astromonkey.net or http://www.myspace.com/astromonkeybbq.

  12. I figured that was the town (duh, I don't know of any other Fleetwood bodies), but thanks, just wanted to make sure before I started talking it up.

Yeah, I realized I should have closed the door AFTER I got home

And thanks as always to Homemade Hardtop and HotRodSurfer, even though I didn't make breakfast, the motorcycle show was really great. And I did bump into a couple of hoodlums there :D.

    Hey AstroMonkey

Humm...perhaps what I was thinking could wait until July and your BBQ could be the June HAMB and s****ple...see PM I sent. ...Sounds like a nice event and free food....this could be nice and it would be good to support another event being thrown by a HAMB'r. And it would be a different location keeping with the theme of a rotating location. What do ya think?

    evol,
http://www.jalopyshowdown.com/ has info on Showdown drags at Beaver Springs Dragway.
It is a blast...You don't have to race or you can run just a couple times if you want to. It's real laid back fun.
I'll see ya at the Showdown...

    Hey Jerry,
I'm up for supportin' Astro's gig, if you can hold off your June idea. Why plan another deal if Astro's deal is the same day and is invitin' us.
    Hey Astro,
What's with this free food thing? Should we bring some stuff with us to cook up?

Smokey - It's a shame you couldn't make it to the motorcycle gig - it was a good turnout . Jerry was in cool-bike overload ! Lots of cool stuff .

We get a bunch of Burgers, Dogs, and usually drum sticks in BBQ sauce plus potato chips and salad. Basic backyard BBQ far. This is the first year we're having it at a bar. In the past we bought our own beer and gave it away free. I think we kicked like 10 kegs last year. Since I'm not giving away the beer this year I worked things with the owner so there's no admission fee to get in.

I only plan to cook free food from like noon - 2:00 or until we cook it all. After that people can eat off the bar menu. They have good food and it's cheap. I'll make sure all the HAMB'ers get some grub. No need to bring anything.

If you want anything other than the standards your welcome to bring it and we'll toss it on the grill.

I'm really bummed I didn't make the Saturday thing. The bike show sounds like a blast. I've been thrashing in the shop every weekend trying to get the 64 F100 shop truck we're working on, on the road before we have our BBQ. I had to pick either the Saturday or the Sunday shindig and I think I picked wrong. The Sunday thing was closer but the bar was to fancy for our crowd and cost to much $$$. I should have brought my Triumph out and gone with you guys to the cycle show. [IMG]

    Hey All,
My daughter Michele and I had a fun time at the breakfast. Good food and good company.

We went to the Kutztown Renninger's Antique Show to find some vintage jewelery for her prom. She found a really nice rhinestone necklace for $140, but didn't buy. Then she found one she liked even more for $20! She has a good eye, I'm taking her with me the next time I go to a car parts flea market!
