To all of you HAMBers that went on the Junkyard run at Pyle's... Wheres the pics?? I'm sure someone had a camera...? One of last year's runs provided the 999 car with a Whippet grille shell, what about this year? Youre killin' me... [IMG]

  2. Foul is the only one that remembered a camera and he's on his way to his family's place for Xmas.

we had a great time and got a lot of parts. I got a box full of misc. early taillights, a 20's round gas tank, a steering box to make a cowl steering, some stuff for the Lincoln, a 39 Chevy door to make a sign out of and more I forgot about. There's more that I want to go back for too.

JayGeff got a real nice pair of doors for his truck. 46Mopar got a tailgate and "that guy" got a set of seats out of a Tbird for his 40 Chevy coupe. I think a couple of other guys got some little stuff.

We all had a good time and got to meet Foul. He fit right in with our bunch of idiots.

We spend 6 hours there and I don't think it got above 35 all day. Once we started moving I didn't notice the cold. I found some other stuff I need to go back for in a couple of weeks. I just need to save some after Xmas money. I picked up a tailgate for my truck and a 5ft tall steel wagon wheel for my wife to put in the yard. Now she wants me to go back and look for more. See the plan [IMG]

Our famous PA photographer never showed up, AHEM! [IMG] [IMG] Just bustin ya, ya old fart. I got a set of wiper arms for my 40 and possibly found a nice pair of fenders for it. I need to get back down there and grab a couple of those back windows(46 I think they are the same, now that I looked at mine when I got home.) I got to ride there in the SoWhat pickup which was cool, thanks Clark. It was a very nice day to cruise the yard, umkay. later plmczy aka the plow.

Thanks for the update! I went out to Reading in the Buick and got to see some cool stuff too. As usual, I shot black and white film (Because I'm an old fart..) so the pics will have to wait a few days.

Clark- Let me know when you want to go back. Sounds like a cool yard for me to shoot.

had a blast up there, the place i awesome! no doubt. and reasonable as hell. found a cool 30's chilton flat rate manual in one of the buses parked in the mud. all kinds of junk and goodies. Clark was also lookin out for me, scored me a sweet new belt buckle off of a jeep COMMANDO. he said it just fit for some reason...

I would like to go. The holidays are just too crazy to get anything done. I only bought my first Christmas present yesterday. [IMG] Maybe a late winter trip -- when the show is leaving -- would be a good time?

Probably late feb early march would be the best. The ground would be froze and you could get thru the swamp better. I'd be up for it. later plmczy

Managing to get on teh Intarweb real quick at the parents' place. I'll post the pictures sometime next week after I get back home. Nothing spectacular, but hey.

Sorry I didn't stick around for the party for too long, guys. Good time, but I felt the need to move on at 10 p.m. for some reason. And then there was that 80 car pileup on I-80 the next day.

But I had a good time, and that junkyard's way cooler than anything we have either here around my parents' place or in VT. We'll definitely have to do something like that again.

Your welcome. They have 2 early 60's dodge wagons there, one is black and red and the other is orange. To bad they are in bad shape, they would make great cruiser's. I love those body styles.later plmczy

Greetings..this is adam i guess you call me a relative to the pyle family.
my dad is cousins with larry whose father lester *les* pyle *rip* was the original owner of the yard, i'm pretty sure.
I always went there with my dad to pick up parts and go rummagin' through the cars to find old airfreshners and i even found a pack of old stale filterless camel smokes. haha i thought i was king shit.
i always wanted to work there and take apart engines and just...man the times i had there! i didnt want them to end.
i'm glad to see that other people enjoy/enjoyed going there.
    awesome!

my friend AJ that does my tattoo work told me about this site.
he did an awesome 49merc on my left forearm.
i only wish that someday i could have a led sled as cool as this one.
    haha

    well take care.

i'd like to meet some fellow motorheads from the central pa area.

    peace and grease

    and take care
