I don't see any Smileys- seriously- forecast looking good for next week? No new storms? I just see this news about avalanches and ***ume it's not isolated. I have to go through the Oregon P*** and Nor Cal wasn't looking good last night. Lots to consider. Thanks Jim

That depends on which side of the mtns. you live; there is a world of difference between western and eastern Washington weather this week.
Although our unusually heavy snowfall is now gone, the Spokane area is
still buried, as Chris and others will attest.
Get updated forecasts from the National Weather Service before heading
toward eastern Wash. Even the Siskiyous (sp.?) can be dicey this time of
    year.

Jim You can try the ODOT cameras in Oregon They will give you some idea of what you can excpect in Northern Calif. and Southern Oregon.
    Good luck and drive safe.

Jim, I think you'll hit snow for sure, no matter were you go up here. We have been getting snow storm after snow storm for the past month with no end in sight. Were burried to say the least. BUT, like 36 Rokit said, it all depends were you go. If I were you, I would make sure you have GOOD tires, and prepare for the snow, and pick up some tire chains. Most places will let you return them no problem if you do not use em.
Good luck :D Is your truck 4 wheel drive? If yes, I'd say you won't have a problem either way. If it's 2 wheel drive, have some weight in the back? Have you ever driven in the snow?

Well.... Thank GOD things have started to Dry up. Hang in there Spokane guys. So while we had the chance, figured we'd start some stuff up and get some oil pumping. Had'nt had the Black one going since Arlington Drag Reunion weekend. Figured the battery would be dead for sure. Neighbors always start appearing when ****s runnin in my yard. Beer starts flowin, Start forgetting everything I wanted to do. Just had to hear something burning fuel and smell some exhaust. I feel a little bit better now. But winter has just started! Damn!

jimA, better be prepared for a long trip. they have been closing I-90 for avalanche clearing. all my relatives live in wenatchee and they tell me its cold and nasty there. good enough for me to wait until spring. easy to get caught on p*** with blizzard, closed for avalanche control, wrecked semi truck.... good luck!

Jim, If you take I-5 north to Everett, you only have to venture about 120 miles east to Wenatchee and should only see about 60-80 miles of snow up here. If you take I-90 you will end up travelling over 2 p***es , and Blewitt P*** from I-90 towing in the snow seems to me to be the worst to take. All of that ugly Spokane snow is 200 miles further east. I think the worst areas for you to really worry about are from Redding on and off to Eugene. The good thing going for you is I-5 is generally pretty well maintained. If the buyer is that damn impatient, tell em they are more than welcome to go down and pick it up. Are you towing with your Dodge? I don't remember it being a 4X4 ? Make sure you have chains with you and don't forget chains for the trailer too. Take your time . Dave

Sunshine and 78 in Tulsa today. I'm not being nasty, really. I lived in Iowa for 25 years. Couldn't wait to get out. I feel sorry for you all having to put up with that white stuff. Oh well, spring is just around the corner.

You should be okay if you stick to the interstates. Either come all the way up I-5, take Hwy 18 over to I-90, or cross Oregon on I-84 over to the Tri-Cities. From the Tri-Cities you have I-82 back to Yakima, or Hwy 395 to head up to Spokane.

I'd stay away from Hwy 97, it can get real damn nasty over Satus P***. My mom got in a hell of a wreck up there one winter, and I've known several people who've died up there. The other routes are much MUCH safer and well taken care of. Once you factor speed you don't gain that much time going that route anyways.

  15. I'm just over the hill from wenatchee ( 20 straight line ). Local forecast is all over the map Mon thru Wed. Rain, snow, wind, cold. To me,Snoqualamie, Stevens and Blewitt p***es ****. I'd rather come up central and gamble on the one climb out of East Wenatchee to Quincy. Personally, I'd make the clown wait .. not worth the chance of losing the whole works.

Just checking in from Northern Minnesota:

For the last 2 weeks we've had snow, bone chilling cold, snow, bone chilling cold, snow......an endless cycle.

Yesterday afternoon I plowed a foot of fresh snow and this morning it is
    -22.

This year is a good old fashioned winter like we used to have when I was a kid in the 60's - before global warming. By the way, what happened to global warming anyway?

I was born in Grand Rapids Minn. We moved out here when I was in grade school to get away from the stuff. I think my parents should have kept on driving. Another 4-8" on the way tonight thru tomorrow, and windy!

if it was my vehicle getting delivered i wouldn't take the chance of it being destroyed. hell if they wanted it that bad make them meet you in seattle. the thing about the north cascades the weather can change instantly. jim i have been caught on the p***es because of wrecked semi's,avalanche control, blizzard and avalanches. i know about 99% of the guys that are rodders in wenatchee and most of them are great people. what are you delivering??

Were hauling the Widow down the Sacramento autorama in a month. Alex didn't like that we couldn't guarantee we would be there. He doesn't want any one pulling out last minute. Unfortunately we wont know until last minute if the weather will allow us to go. After all we have no control over the weather. No reason to risk a historically significant car for one show in the dead of winter right?
