Spent the last two days shoveling roofs and more snow is on the way. I do have another day off work tomorrow though, the Sheriff just closed all schools in the county for the next 24 hours. We've officially had 69" of snow since December 17th. Our normal total for an entire winter is 42".

I just saw an extended forcast for this week. Around Tue. & Wed. it's supposed to hit 40 and start raining. That should make for a nice sloppy mess.

  5. hey jimA, they just opened the passes on I-90 westbound after 21+ hours for avalanche control. just rain here in tacoma. hope you made some serious coin on the vehicle your delivering. i turned down $3000 3 winters ago to deliver a car to arizona. the guy that did ended up wrecking a almost new truck and trailer causing him to go $9000 in the hole. if you do go be extra careful!

Snow is almost gone down low. Now we get to brace for floods. I live in a swamp and I am used to water, but even I get too much sometimes. Water is now over about a 100' of my driveway and part of the road coming in. Just getting started.

Just read in the paper that Spokane has had RECORD snowfall, sorry for you guys. It's finally gone from around here, but the mess left behind is just as bad. The county and cities did very little, and those that did, spread dirt and rock, not SAND, all over the place. Now, everyone can look forward to broken windshields, damaged paint, and the fish streams and rivers will get the runoff; the silt will harm fish habitat. I'm not a tree hugger, but I just can't understand the stupidity of how things were dealt with. Also, the big worry now, with the snowmelt and rain, is flooding. At least I'm on high ground. It's also been very windy the last couple of days, and roofs are loosing shingles. Butch/56sedandelivery.

  8. Now flooding !!!

  9. Yeah, started raining here yesterday and temps at 40+ degrees. Snow is rapidly melting, but with snow-covered drains, everything is flooding!!

Well boys I live in Beautiful Carver Oregon and the damn snow was 3 feet deep.I have a 40x60 Pole barn. Well in Oregon the snow load on pole barns is 25lbs per foot. Sounds like alot but it's not. My neighbor barn went flat..What a mess. So all you guys with barns and snow keep an eye on it. The builder of mine said we were 3/4 of the load. Wow.Something to think about.

I'm sure after hitting the waves you were entertained by 1/2 naked surfer girls, BBQing steaks & dogs on the sun-drenched patio, between making Margaritas. I just hope you remembered your SPF50 sunblock.

I'll stick to our massive snow, frozen rain, monsoonish sideways rain, sleet, hail, ice, rivers swollen to flood stage, then more snow....

GOTTA GO... downspouts are plugged and gutters overflowing.

Yea it tough here also. I'm on my porch, (I keep my computer on the porch) my shirt is off, the sun is shining, and the glair is blinding, My tea is getting cold, the temp is in the low 70s, and will probably get up to 88 today, and it still winter. We don't even get any spring, it goes straight into summer. And at night we can't even use our AC.
