Packard Engine interchange help!!!

I have a 54 with a 359 and Gear Start auto trans. Will a 49 327 from manual trans car bolt in?

The '49 engine used a front yoke mount, the '54 has side mounts on the block. If the 327 has the holes in the side of the block for the mounts, you could use the block with the '54 mounts. The trans is just the opposite: side mounts on the '49, and one center-tail mount on the '54. You would really need a '51-'54 trans.

Questions - Why do you want to switch, and would you sell the '54 parts?
