Rik, thanks for the info on the Model Car Garage sombrero hub caps and Barris crests. I ordered both from them yesterday. Could you please post a color photo of the Cad and Barris crests for reference to paint? Also were the Barris crests enameled? Would a drop of epoxy over the paint be accurate?

I think both kits come with color reference (at least I made them when I created the kits for MCG)

Below is a photo of the Barris Crest.... (will look for a Caddy Crest later on)
The gray horizontla strokes are actually green.

The Barris Crest was color sections where enameled, so a drop of epoxy on the botom portion of the creat would work. (just a thin coat)

 

Here is a 53 Caddy crest the colors are red, gold and black. Not the best angle but maybe it helps. And a hello to Rik. Keep the customs pix coming.

 

Are all Cad crests the same? Would a late model example be the same as the sombrero? If so I can look around town for an example. TIA.
