Hey man, can you answer a couple questions about your wagon please? What's the width on your front axle, from centerline to centerline on the kingpin bosses? What springs are you using on the front, and do you like the way it rides? And, what steering box are you using? Thanks man.

I didn't forget about you ... just been too crappy out to brave the weather. Went outside with the measuring tape today & got what you asked for.

The axle is from MAS & is 48" to the center of the kingpin bosses. The springs came with the axle, probably just trailer springs. I'd recommend stepping up to urethane bushings instead of the rubber ones that come with the springs.

Mine rides great, the spring rate seems to be just right for the weight of my '57 (2750 lbs). I'm still using my stock steering box. I cut off the stock steering rod after the ball spring, tigged straight tubing to the stock piece, tapped the tubing for ford tie rod end, & it mates up to my '46 Ford spindles. Id like to use an aftermarket steering arm off the upper mounting holes on the passenger spindle to get rid of the bump steer. I'll probably do that & put longer rear spring mounts on this spring to gain more pitman arm clearance. It rubs the spring on a full turn.

If you need some pics or have more questions let me know. WWS

Thanks WWS,...I appreciate the info, I dig yer car, it looks pretty tuff comin' down the road. I got to look at it a little down at the Road Rockets gig in Indy, I thought that was the stock steering box, but wanted to know how you did the other stuff.

What do you mean by, "stock steering rod"?,...the rod that goes from the Pitman arm to the steering arm on the spindle? Thanks bro...
