Never spray ANY thing without a quality mask. Wear a painter's suit as well. A fresh air hood! Wear glove's. Even while mixing. Dust from sanding/grinding need's to be filtered too. Heath tip's up to 1 gram of Vit. C each day. B12. Multi Mineral tablet. Aformentioned Vit. E. Eat cleaner than your average America, cut soda's down to nil, and bump up water (filtered) intake. Look up what Aspartame does for a person.

Depends on the type of paint, and solvent, your using.

Basicly, anything you can do to keep that shit out of your system is a good idea.
    The hardeners are especially bad.

Ever heard that the success of a paint job rests in the preparation? I think that where most of the health problems originate is not in the paint booth, where everyone is normally safety conscious; but rather in the sanding and preparation, or mixing of the various paints, fillers or applying lead etc. I seldom see the old guys in the shops around here using any mask, gloves or respirators while doing any of that type of work. I encourage my nephew to do it with the point of my boot but he still doesn't if I'm not around. I can certainly tell if I don't use the proper protection. My lungs doth protest too much!

I am much happier when I bondo/sand when I have on gloves, long sleeve-shirt-respirator-pants. But I am happier when I don't have to bondo/sand at all!
