Anyone have any tricks or gimmicks for solving the old paint bubble thing> I would be interested to hear.
Are you saying that bubbles are raising up under the paint like slovent is trapped? If so are there alot? I had a enamel job years ago that after it had been painted a few months some bubbles started to raise . I took a small needle and poked the center and mashed them back down.
Just one bubble. Could be solvent. I thought about getting some adhesive underneath. Not sure how though. How did yours stick back down if the paint was dry. This was painted about 4 months ago.
1/2 by 1/4 when tapped sounds hollow behind. Hope its not that lugi I lost 4 months ago. Seriously anyone have any tricks. Painters out there?
Could be trapped moisture or rust resurfacing. You might need to get that spot repainted if it gets any bigger. Cant really tell whatit could be without seeing it.
What If I cut a flap and pushed construction cement under. Laid it down, let it dry and then a little 1500 grit wet and a rebuff. Think it will snap?
i've seen people in museums restore mummies or some shit with glue in a hypodermic needle. perhaps you could QUICKLY get some glue in a needle and inject it, hold it down, and dab clear on the hole before it glues the needle shut.
I think the paint would probably end up cracking if you tried to slit it and then put something underneath it
[ QUOTE ] How did yours stick back down if the paint was dry. This was painted about 4 months ago. [/ QUOTE ] Mine had only been painted a few months. It was single stage enamel and enamel just get harder over the years, so it was still pliable and it just stayed down. It happened after it had rained and I had a vynal bra on the front of the car and I guess the moisture trapped between there caused mine to bubble somehow. Mine actually oozed some yelow liquid out when I mashed it down. It just seemed like trapped solvent trying to get out.
Mummy restoration? I wonder if they have that as a night course at the community college? Anyone else have a trick?
