Firstly, thanks to 37Nash for the photoshoping my car. any way what do you guys think of as a finished product to aim for? Imagine the black glossy and the door handles shaved not painted though. Let me know your opinions. photoshop as it is now
What's wrong with the way it is now???? Go with the Tire/wheel combo in the photoshopped version and keep the body color and do the roof(top)in pearl white or white with heavy flake. Why would you want to go flat black? there's a long thread on here already****led "Falcons done right" http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=80033&highlight=falcons+done+right
Gee , That's inspiring .... Posted a thread about that falcon we saw at Big Al's and some photo's from the day .... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=335423&showall=1
I like it, chromies and white walls work on a falcon. If you shave the handles you should do the locks also. What about if you shorten the stainless trim on the side so that you remove the piece off the front door and then reposition the badge and spear end on the front door? kyle
car looks pretty straight, shouldn't be a problem with shiney paint, lose the handles and locks, and any other trim you don't want. wheel and tire change, and you could be driving a transformed car in a couple of weeks.
Thanks for your input guys. Yeah definately have to be gloss black. Nothing wrong with the way it is now, I just had an idea and thought i give it a try, I really like it. So i thought i would ask what you'll thought. my previous idea had been just that 61Tbird original green with a pearl roof, but i thought i look at other possibilities. thanks guise art i have checked out the falcons done right thread many times Thanks, Moondog
You only get cool old paint the first time! The photoshopped wheel/tyre combo ($3500 in Oz) only look good coz they're 15"s with some dish, that will never fit on a Falcon. (in any way that would pass Registration in Australia) The "as is" pix look SPOT-ON.....Cement bags in the boot really used to dump mine in the***** for cruise nights, and you could use them to make boots for all your 'friends' afterwards!!! ....and NUTHIN looks more period correct on an old Falcon than those GORGEOUS Mustang-inspired 14" mags.......so, ENJOY THE HELL OUT OF IT !!!!
Chrome steelies and thin whites. Besides there too many good lines from Running on Empty about a green car. Dig the hue man.
mark in japan, regarding the wheels im not sure where you gettin your pricing from but I know where I can get OEM style chromies at quite a reasonable price if i cant find secondhand ones. Im chasin 14x6 not 15, and narrow band whitewalls aint that hard to find. I dig the original colour but, I got some inspiration and thought I would like to see what it looked like. Also the photo is of the good side of the car ,the otherside has quite a dent in the front fender but is otherwise straight. It does need some rust repair in the next year or 2 before it gets out of hand. I am owed a panel and paint job so I thought I had better make it a good one
I got 2 more but i need to find a diff that they will fit first Also if anyone can photoshop the black gloss we might get a better idea thanks moondog
JamesD they look great man, thanks a bunch. any chance of trying the gloss black body with the green roof for me Thanks again man. Moon.dog
James, try the current color for the body and a lighter flaked roof. I think tht would look pretty cool.
