Paint Help.....

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by A32Flathead, Apr 28, 2004.

  1. A friend of mine in the UK has bought this rather nice Plymouth ragtop, and is having problems matching the paint, the only info he has on the color from the previous owner is as follows.....

    Axzonovelle Utek Colormap # 501-F5

Does anyone recognise this code? Or can you steer me in the direction of someone who may be able to assist? [IMG]

    Thanks in advance.

akso nobel (sikkens) (utech- american company purchased by akso nobel.) Code is for their colormap book, gives the page number and colorchip. The colormap is a series of volumes of colors organized by shade. The chips have holes in them so you can take the page out of the binder and lay it on the car and get as close a match as possible. They are real handy for matching unknown or faded colors. Tell him to find a dealer for their paint in his area and compare chip number 505-F5 to his car. Someone might have used that on the car. The index also tells what other factory colors match that chip. It's a neat system. Akso nobel is originally from Holland, but should be common in Europe as well as here in the U.S. overspray

  5. Thanks for the info, he found a link to the Manufacturer from the site recommended above, and has found a UK dealer for it.

Once again, the knowledge base on this forum amazes me...

Robin asked me to pass on his thanks to you all.
