Paint is to shiny

    Painted my 51 with ppg paint that is used to paint undersides on cars.$35.00 a gallon.it was suppose to be satin but for me it is to shiny.anyone have any ideas on how to knock some shine off?

    Bust out the ajax and wash it with that a few times. Takes shine off nicely.

    Scuff pad for flat, and wet sand with 1000 for semi-flat.

    If you want to experiment in a hidden area, I've used pumice w/water, a drop of liquid soap and a cloth/sponge to take shine off of varnished wood quite well.

    Leave it out in the weather and drive it. The paint paint will fade and turn flat
