GREAT SHOW TODAY...DAve and the Back Street Kustom people put on an amazing show... Photos to follow soon

  2. Got home last night, great turn out for Paint & Primer. Lots of great cars, excellent food and company. Felt like we'd missed alot this summer and it was good to visit with everyone.

Never have I seen so many Lonely Knight cars lined up in a row, think about 25 total. Was happy to see that level of participation. It was fitting show of respect for one of our favorite people, John Shady.

    Johnnie.

Yep, great show for all of us "Kustom" guys...whitewalls and hubcaps and no billet anywhere...OK, OK...Dave P. has a few friends that drive billet, but they had to park off to the side...

    Here's a couple of pix...

Just a small sampling of the over 150 cars there...

Johnny W's (five window Johnny here on the HAMB) period perfect '32...along with Buddy Grauer's period perfect brand new all home built '39 Ford...and he did it all himself, including top, upholstery and lacquer paint.

Photographer extraordinaire Dan Greenburg looks pretty stiff in this shot...but I know for a fact he doesn't drink...I think he just swallowed the watermelon he had. Actually this is a shot of all the participants partaking in the food available ...

Kustoms of all kinds everywhere...Ed Bane's (KI mag feature car, issue # 26, '56 Ford in the background) new kustom...a '55 Olds just got the Packard taillight treatment and made its maiden run on its Buick nailhead engine...sans interior...Ed's son, Troy, said it was "damned hot inside."

Plan on the Paint 'n Primer event next Labor Day...

Arrived home from the PnP this morning after a layover in Castle Rock last night. Really enjoyed the event, the excellent turnout, and particularly the people we met. Dave Pareso and Backstreet Customs and better half Chrissy should be commended for one of the best Colorado events of the year.

Lonely Knights came out in force. Couldn't even get all the cars in one shot...

This is from the north end looking south. Lonely Knights cars wrap around the corner...

Still couldn't get them all in the photo! Had the little pocket digital. Not enough room in the Model A for a real camera with a wide angle...

Looks like Lindsay got a paint job since the last time we saw her car (here a year ago). Speaking of space, this has it! The interior is bigger than the living room of our house.

Here's a guy that may need a car like Lindsay's. Johnnie explaining to LK pledges Harry and Kim the benefits of being a Knight: Lot's of food! Kudos to those that cooked and created the best picnic of the year.

    More to come...

Here are some more to supplement Roger's Kustom collection:

This is always a favorite. Perfect stance with lots of patina. No improvements needed.

    Ed's new car. Another angle.

Especially like the dash. Traditional and looking really good.

Speaking of Roger... The Stude came out for the event. Dan brought .the '54. Good to catch up with both
