Hitting the final coat of primer tonight I had a little snag. Mixed up some MP 182 5-1 with a splash of reducer since it was to be my last coat. I always adust my gun in an old box I keep around, all looked good. I started with a quick spritz on my windshield posts since they were bare. As soon as I pulled the trigger I could tell something was wrong!!!!! No color came out and what did looked milky, almost clear!? I thought it might have been the cleaner I just wiped them down with that had not evaporated yet so I went on to one of my doors. Shot the back and the top and had an OH***** moment! I glanced at my posts and they were dripping and rnning like I have never seen! Looked back at the door to find the same action. Sweat, panic.........think.......I grabbed a rag with reducer on it and quickly wiped em off. I was worried about the door and wondering if my primer was bad, the can had a dent in the seal on the lid. Thought back a little bit and admitted to myself that I hadnt mixed the High build enough. Also think I didnt mix the activator and that splash of reducer before I poured it into the gun I poured out that cup, remixed/shook and tried again. I was relieved, the stuff sprayed like normal and I now have the final primer coat on. I dont need scares like that at this point! I should be ready for final paint by this weekend.
