alright if any one knows it would be you guys.

for this coupe project i thought it would be cool to paint it blue and black blended some how so it would look like a blued gun barel

but also thought it would be cool to have it look like the original old black paint

wait, before you go off on gay fake patina . i agree

i dont want worn threw rusty stuff, ive got that already

i want that ben buffed out for 45 years but still shines good enuff look.

flat paints are the norm, and shiney just isnt what i have in mind for this car.

    ideas?

Add a little black to some Dark Blue metalic for your base color, then shoot Blue Candy over top of it.
Depending on the angle of light,it will look Blue,or Black,or Blue metalic.
It can be as wild,or as subtle as you want.
For something extra special, mix different sizes/types of 'Flake.

  4. If you want to get an old look to the paint, you can try this out on a smaller surface to see how it works:
If you're working over black, try spraying a mixture of tinting clear,a couple drops of light gray(non metallic)and a small amount of flattening agent.Lightly spray over the surface, let dry,and then buff out with coarse compound to try and rip thru areas deliberately.Recoat with straight clear after desired effect is obtained. Some experimentation may be required to get proper effect.

YOU CAN ADD HARDENER TO BLACK BASE COAT SPRAY A THINED COAT OF BLUE IN BETWEEN EVERY COAT OF BLACK, THEN WET SAND TO ACHIEVE THE DESIRED RUBBED THROUGH EFFECT. YOU CAN ACTUALLY BUFF THE HARDENED BASE, OR ADD SOME FLATTENING AGENT TO SOME CLEAR THEN SAND FLAT AND BUFF. YOU CAN ALSO DO THIS WITH SINGLE STAGE PAINT, BUT ON YOUR FINAL COAT AFTER YOU WET SAND TO DESIRED EFFECT ADD BLACK AND CLEAR TOGETHER WITH A LITTLE FLATTENING AGENT AN CAP IT OFF THEN RUB ONE OUT, OH I MEAN RUB IT OUT, GOOD LUCK.
