  3. Go with urethane. Far more chip resistant

Like anthony said, is it solid or metallic? Solid color then single stage should be fine, metallic paint should always be done in a base coat, clear coat. The reason for this is that you can not fix bad spots, or color sand and buff single stage metallic easily.

Solid color only. Liking the California orange color on my 54 Studebaker coupe very solid car the floor and firewall still has good original pink paint should I prime-seal this first have pressure washed still has a shine to it.

  7. enamel sprays very EZ. Chips easier. Can be used without a hardener.
Urethane is a little tougher and has a little more gloss.

Sounds like he was concerned about possible compatibility.

Sounds like a budget spray enamel is slightly cheaper than urethane sprays about the same all paint chips the same it's all in the prep. If you choose the urethane it's Moore toxic then the enamel so keep that in mind.

  10. For a metallic I’m shooting base/ckear.
Single stage metallic looks like poo

    Yes Sir !:D

I used acrylic enamel in the "old" days. Guy in the small shop next to me used Dupont Emeron( urethane). Back then the Emeron wasnt shinny( and actually looked like crap) . Could have been cause Emeron was a new formula . Could have been the painter, maybe he put some secret ingredient in it like a dash of lacquer thinner or some LSD or something.
Id use the single stage urethane now days, Acrylic enamel shrinks over the years:D

  12. Yep. All paint will chip.
Oil based and straight enamel do that easier.
Plus they loose gloss faster than a urethane.

    All paints are unhealthy

I routinely piss people off by proving them wrong.

I have been told over and over again that it is not possible that I have had success with TCP Global paints.

I use urethane for durability and longevity.

Just to further push the point, for a long time I had a custom painted Ducati. Everyone loved it, but called me a liar when I revealed that it was TCP Global urethane, sprayed with a Harbor Freight purple gun. I even did all of the primer work with two slightly modified HF purple guns (reamed the tips out to larger sizes).

My Falcon is about to go into satin pearl, and I will give you three guesses where I got the paint.
