how do i get satin paint effect my car is black poly primer but all scratches show up i want a combo of paint that will work and is cheap
Well, you can start by posting an intro. Let us know who you are, what you drive, where your from etc. To answer your question you can get a flattener for the clear. The more you put in the flatter it will be, instant suede.
Farm implement paint works well. For a little more money you can base/clear it. Use a satin clear and that'll take care of you.
Do you want it to look good, or do you want it cheap? Do you want it to last, or do you want it cheap?
Go down to your local auto paint shop and ask for the least expensive Urethane (single stage - no clear needed) and some "flattening agent" about a quart or less and ask them.... (they are the the most familiar with their products) how much to use ...... or you could play with different ratios of flattener -2-paint to get the finish you desire ................ I used Sherwin Williams lo-buck line in single stage Urethane with 1pt of flattener to a gallon and mixed in regular amounts of reducer and hardner and I got a really nice satin finish ................... But be sure to spray a test panel first!!!! ... and let it dry over-nite ...... it will look wet and shiny until its really dried. .............. good luck
