There is nothing wrong with wanting to do things better, especialy when your doing it yourself.

GO Glossy! Shiny paint seperates the men from the boys!

you know and i know there's nothing nicer than a clean, straight, shiny black paint job. only thing is it's a ***** to keep clean. but it's well worth the time and effort you put into it. i vote shiny, and oh yeah, if you're using basecoat for the black, make sure you seal it so the urethane under it don't lift or wrinkle when you paint it. good luck.

my original intention was semi-flattened, i shot the dash with base and while it was wet (and glossy) my eyes lit up! Then it dried and i was like....um i dont think so. I like flat paint jobs, just not on my countless hours of bodywork.

Still sanding, filling and still undecided on paint color and finish. No pics right now due to lack of major visual change. One thing i know is I'm close to shooting the truck with 2k surfacer so I can block it out.Two months till round up.It will be there what ever stage its in,****ty or not:DI think shiny is in the lead but I really don't think I can pull off a decent glossy paint job. Thanks for all the input fellas

Don't let these "gloss deuchebags" sway your paint choice! Your truck looks really cool suede! If you need to redo it for better quality, redo it. But keep it suede if you want to...

You're doing a great job from the looks of your photos, I couldn't help to laugh at the shiny not shiny replies. That always happens in any paint thread. But the great thing is: These guys have some great opinions on both sides of the fence. The end result is you paint it the way you want it. Since you realized you wanted it to look better, Im sure it will turn out awesome!! just my 2c

Thanks a lot.Im gonna make everyone happy I guess since the cab from just below the gl*** up is going to be a glossy finish bone white and the rest of the body will be black somewhere between flat and a satin finish. In the end Ill be the happiest about being finished more than anything else:D

finished with the surfacer, the fenders and hood are almost perfect so those will only get the black primer when I do the whole truck on the 28th[IMG]

  24. Sweet Javier...was just wondering about how you were coming along...

  30. I like it. And, I like it suede. I say run it low gloss and stripe it up. I don't care if something's been done a thousand times or not. The end result is all that matters. If it works, it works.
