Well after gnawing over the thought of polishing my 671, making a buffing wheel, polishing a few small parts, I decided to paint my blower, there,s just to many casting flaws for my patience. I did buff out the 3 center ribs and painted the rest semi black, still gonna try and buff the bearing plates and front cover. curious to see what others look like :)

I work for an aluminum foundry in Indiana thats actually engineering a 671 right now, we only have the back bearing plate and a 2x4 carb spacer in production right now but once we get everything complete and have start selling them completely assembled we have talked about having the option of any color powder coat and polished ribs that would look just like this one.

I couldn't find any rules on marketing or advertising for this part of the forum but just to be safe ill just show u guys a picture of our rear bearing plate right now, imagine everything that doesn't have a machined suface or isnt a rib to be powder coated and thats what it will look like.

Powder coat is a little different than regular liquid paint, for one its not a liquid, its a powder that bonds electrostatically rather than a chemical bonding agent, which means you can put a much thicker layer on and don't have to worry about running, and it also is curred with heat. It will actually peel off pretty easy if you don't put a thick layer on. Our shop run thousands of powder coat parts daily and we are actually installing our own powder coat line within the year. :)

I like the black, it would be a nice combination on the whole engine especially with the small bits of the brushed aluminum coming through. Very cool!

We don't sell them without or logo :), the letters are cast A365.2-T6 with a +1/8" thickness, we machine off the 1/8" down for the shinned finish. their $129.00 but your welcome to buy one and machine or grind of the letters if you like. :)

here is the spec on the rear plate:

    Bearing bores - 0.0005" + 0.0000" Tolerance
    bearing bore diameter: 2.0455"
    Seal bores - 0.001" + 0.000" Tolerance
    seal bore diameter: 1.8260"
    100% CMM Inspection
    100% Made in U.S.A.

if someone tells me its alright ill post our website and you can look at them more, we also make Cal custom sbc valve covers, shift knobs and air breathers.

Those are the rear bearing plate and 2x4 carb adapters that Rick Dean sells, great price by the way. I would have purchased but I reused my rear plate and made my 2x4 adapter.

Yep, we work with Rick directly, he has been helping us from the start design and test them. Every DPI plate he sells comes directly from our foundry, half of the time I'm the one shipping them to him. :)
