Painted Images on the doors?

    I was wonder what type of paint does everyone use when they have the shop names painted on the side or graphics. I know you can airbrush them on but I really like the worn out flaking off look.

    Use oneshot lettering enamel, then if you want it to look old sand it back until you get some of the base colour showing through. Make sure the colours aren't to bright and glossy either.

    If you want a flaking look I would probably look towards House of Color for advise. I know that in the home decorating side of things you can get a stuff called "s***ble glaze", this gives a old cracked and flaky look when mixed with the paint. I imagine HOK have something that would do a similar job.

    I use 1-Shot, mixed with some 1-Shot clear or MinWax polyurethane, {to take the opacity out of the color} and mix in some flattening agent {baby powder will do in a pinch}......You want the brush strokes showing giving it that washed out look

    yeah just thin the One Shot out real heavy. pallet more paint out of the brush than you normally would when yer lettering. Get to it!
