Projects Painted lace on my girls 1963 mercury monterey this weekend

    I had no issues with the spray adhesive , we used the lowest tack we could get . Let it dry for 5 min before laying the lace . I have a book from the 70s here that was put out by a paint supplier back then with how to ideas and that's where I read about using it . I was skeptical at first also

    I think the next time I lace something big , I'll try the tack glue idea too . It was a big concern for us about having the lace flop around while spraying . We used some strategically place pieces of tape & made out OK .
     
  4. How about a brand name & part # for the low tack adhesive?

    I've always been a little concerned about the spray adhesive/hairspray trick too.
    I normally just pull the lace firm and tape it down. Another trick is to clamp it into the drip rails with a piece of wooden dowel, and clothes pegs.

    Looks real good! It is very crisp, and clean. Wouldn't believe how many blurred ones I have seen.
